It’s February. Light flitters through the shutters, shyly nudging him from slumber. The warmth licks at his eyelids, and he lies very still, listening.
Someone is playing nearby. Secretly, Ginji is delighted at the thought of being serenaded awake. It’s ridiculously romantic, he knows.
And all of a sudden, as if the devil’s possessed him, he jumps out of bed and flings open the windows. Gasps at the blast of cold morning air.
Down below, the streets echo with dying notes. Ginji pins the startled musician with his eyes. He’s bending to retrieve his bow, silly thing.
“Hey!” he calls, still in his fuzzy blue pyjamas, half-falling out the second-storey window and grinning like a madman. “Hey!”
The violinist lifts his glossy head and glares over his glasses. Ha. Adorable.
Ginji laughs, presses his fingers to his mouth and blows the stranger a kiss.
