bahtiar. Some people believe that Japanese students have very little chance to practice their English with native speakers. However, I believe that the internet gives Japanese students a great way to use and learn English. Using the internet, students can practice their English while meeting people from many different countries. Almost
900 million people from more than 200 countries use the internet everyday, so it is possible to communicate with them if a student knows how. One way is to use Livejournal to share thoughts and opinions with others while using the Friends feature to find people with similar interests. Another way is to use Flickr to share photos and talk to people about the photos they have taken. Also, students can find Keypals with whom they can exchange emails and get to know one another. Using the internet in these ways will expose Japanese students to a wide variety of English as it is actually used, as opposed to 'textbook' English to which so many are accustomed. This is why using the internet to use the language they have been studying for so many years is a good idea.
