Agree. We have to change our life style, or at least have to live with that kind of awareness. The place where I live now is a nice and quiet residential town. I love this place with its lovely surroundings and nice people, but at the same time I know I live here at the expense of all the wild life that used to live here. I don't know how many species have lost their habitat. Now we are struggling crows. Out of hunger, they rip open the garbage bags and litter streets. This is a worry, but who is to blame?

It's hard to say who is to blame. Maybe there are mental factors to blame (like fear or greed), not particular individuals themselves. It's just too easy to blame Bush and his cronies like so many do, and then go back to leading the wasteful lives of non-stop consumption.

"The wasteful lives of nonstop consumption," I'll keep this in my mind. One meaning of "economy" is thriftiness or minimum use of money not to waste money or resources. I consider myself as "a person of economy," I mean I try not to spend money on unnecessary things. But the scheme of economy is different. It looks like organized so that we make more money to spend more money to throw away more. We can't shift responsibility to the society. While I highly appreciate modern conveniences which give me much more free time, I've tried to live in more natural way hoping individual's daily small acts will make a difference. Unfortunately almost no effect in sight so far.
