And yet I can't unplug myself. It is the perfect form of procrastination; either I waste time online looking at interesting things, or by posting in my LJ about how much I hate the interweb. What an interesting concept.
Today, I met my friend Cassidy in New West for lunch. You know that skeemey looking pub on East Columbia called the Fireside Pub? It is not nearly as trashy as it looks, and they actually have some pretty good food there. I had a doctors appointment earlier in the morning so I parked my car, did my usual and didn't pay for parking, and went to the appointment. When I got out, it was time to meet Cass, so I walked back to my car to make sure that I hadn't gotten a ticket. Sure enough, I hadn't, but the parking guy was in the lot checking, so I hopped in my car, had a smoke, and played decoy. When he asked what I was doing, I told him I was waiting for my boyfriend to get change so we could pay for parking, and that I was guarding the car. He accepted that, finished his rounds, and drove away. At that point, Cass arrived, I jumped out of my car to say hi, and we decided where we were going to eat, and that we were going to each take our own cars. So I went to get back in my car and...
I had locked my keys in my car. For the first time in my life, I LOCKED MY KEYS IN MY CAR! No longer can I mock Glen, and Ryan, and Nick for loosing his keys, because I too, am now a DUMBASS! So I called Rye to come rescue me, and he was incapable of following directions as to where to meet us (okay, so maybe I didn't give him the greatest directions, because I knew where I was, so he should have known where I was talking about) and Rye was on Columbia Street and not East Columbia, and it took him forever to find us. Cass and I ran all over New West (okay, so it was like four or five blocks) to find Rye, but we couldn't stop laughing. I am pretty sure people driving by us on the corner must have though we were lesbian prostitutes or something because of the way we were huddled for warmth in the wind. All in all, it was a great time. We should do it again soon, hon.
Yeah... so I guess I should get back to work here. I need to finish my filing so I will be ahead of schedule for when I am away in VEGAS!
