(Excerpts from the diary of Ari Anan "Laughing Fox" Sidereal Chosen of the Maiden of Journeys)
768RE Resplendent Wood Day 19,
Thrice blasted Yohzi cultists, flying a malfean flag on the boat. Of course a Storm Mother spotted it and decided to try to sink us in a fit of righteous bitchiness. She managed to blast our mast to toothpicks before I used a charm to focus it's attention elsewhere. We really need to free the Censor for this area.
768RE Resplendent Wood Day 20,
We found a island with a large forest on it. Morning Star brought a tree down and Mathias did a prayer of thanks which garnered the attention of local elementals. After a little bit of talking with the Stick Man elemental everyone has wandered off to explore. Myself and Shoal are investigated a pile of stones which may be ruins. The local Forest Lord came to chat. Very imperious till we lit up our caste marks. He was very uncomfortable and defensive after that. He's either hiding someone or somethings not on the up and up and he's afraid of an audit.
The others found a pirate cove and a search produced a material for a sail for our makeshift mast and some cowrie shells. As we made repairs and jury rigged a mast and sail a 'friendly' ship from Skullstone hailed us to offer us assistance. We politely declined. The walking dead make me very uncomfortable. They should NOT be here. In fact from what I understand they should NOT exist at all. In theory at least. I recall records that ghosts occurred during the first age, but nothing this invasive or well... Here.
768RE Resplendent Wood Day 26,
We have a tree for a mast for a ship that was given as a sacrifice to us 'Yohzi Lords'. I sat down with Mathias and we decided to get a bigger ship. Finding a slaver sheep we took it. I'm very proud of my Solars. They boarded the ship with style. Mathias glistening in the ocean spray spun his Grand Daiklaive in an arc barely nicking the ships defenders and announced the futility of their opposition. Morning Star knocked one guy out then proceeded to lay about him using the unconscious sailor to beat the others back. No one was killed and the worst some people suffered were scratches and being beaten black and blue. Some of the crew attempted to remove me from the ships wheel but Mathias pole vaulted with his weapon from the main deck all the way to the aft and batted the people attacking me through the air and to Morning Star. I had everything under control mostly. However I didn't mind seeing Mathias coming to save me. No not at all.
Everything was going perfectly until the Fae showed up. At which point I summoned up as much authority as I could and shouted for the crew to snap to and jibe. As the Fae continued to give chase I was forced to make the Lesser Sign of Mercury. We successfully ran away. However if anyone asks we retreated for the safety of the mortals on the ship. I like my soul.
768RE Descending Wood Day 3,
We've dropped of a portion of crew and those who lived in the area and are continuing south returning as many people to their homes as possible. The receptions are disappointingly mixed. It seems the raids, feeding people to the Fae and such are attempts to keep the Fae from coming out. This needs to be fixed. We'll need iron and everyone will need to learn how to maintain their integrity against Fae attacks. As we've returned more and more people to their homes it's getting harder to maintain this larger ship. We're reaching some of the last islands and were told of a abandoned shipyard. We might be able to find something of use there.
768RE Descending Wood Day 7,
AUGH! Well this was just wonderful. First we're rebuffed by armed forces at the 'abandoned' shipyard. So we circled around and docked at one of the small villages. After seeing the last of the kidnapped islanders off some of our number made inquiries. It seems a God Queen was building a temple and building forces. So we tagged along to investigate. It was nice for awhile. Mathias asked some of the hard questions and I did my best to answer. This included the Usurpation. It.. Could have gone better. I don't think he trusts me as much. Course it could always get worse. Which it did. We got to the Volcano and sure enough it was a Solar and lo and behold one of my fellow Sidereal. He surprised me and convinced the entire group I was a lying traitor. Then there were threats of death. However to sway my traveling companions my trial was forestalled till the Solar Deliberative was reestablished. Lucky for me if this Solar has anything to say about it there won't be a Deliberative. By the sound of her plans we'll be lucky to have a Creation. As for the Sidereal, he slipped away.. Gold Star dick.
So this Solar hussy sticks her boobs in Mathias's face and rubs all up on him praising him while playing to everyone else. Shoal gets a nice head pat for being a good Lunar. She tells her dreadfully sad story. I'm sure it sounded horrible to the others but being from the Blessed Isle the story was one of being a pampered Un-Exalted Dynast living in the lap of luxury and how hard it was. Followed by how she had to kill her Sifu and fight her way free after Exalting. Then she goes on her sales pitch, one worthy of any grand market. I don't know what this Gold Star asshole been feeding this loony bitch but her plan seems to be while some people try to hold the edges an army wipes out the Blessed Isle. This is followed by wining and dining. I'm surprised she didn't start humping Mathias' leg in her attempts to secure his support... Slut.
She gets her Gold Star to give out some information and gives us a catamaran. The upside of this is we're leaving as fast as possible.
All in all, I'm annoyed. However Sidereal don't kill Sidereal. I must move on and keep moving. The journey is never over.
