Teenage Dream
I like Katy Perry's lastest two songs ._. "California Gurls" and "Teenage Dream."
I noticed a lot of old people freaking out about "Teenage Dream" though. Mostly, grown-ups going bonkers and saying how the song is bad because she sings "let's go all the way tonight, no regrets, just love." I imagine that conservative parents around the nation are probably locking the doors of their teenage daughters before they get swept away by this end-of-summer tune... you know, so they won't carry out any end-of-summer fantasies with their summer flings LOL Hmm... I don't know though. These parents grew up with "Grease" and I bet they had some summer lovin' just like Danny and Sandy!! But anyway, I can understand why those parents would be concerned. To that, and their teenage brats, I say "haha you guys better work it out!" There could be less locking of doors and more warning of teens about consequences, should things get hot and heavy. Especially since it seems like most teenage girls are living under the false notion that they're going to find their very own gentlemanly Edward Cullen and that it'll be foreeeever since he'll love her soooo much.
As for me, the first time I heard the song, I didn't think it was a song about teenagers gettin' it on. I thought it was about being older and finding someone who makes you feel young. Makes you feel as if you're living in a teenage dream (note: keyword=dream)--carefree and living for love. Katy Perry herself is in her mid-twenties, so I imagine this is what the song about. So... I think the song is really cute :)
Did you know that Katy Perry's cat is named Kitty Purry??? Oh god, that's so cute. Kitty Purry recently got nominated "best celebrity pet" LOL Yep. She's a cat lover, like me haha I like that about her LOL I also like that she has the body of a comic book villan--just like Scarlett Johansson. Hot damn +_+ and that she frequents cuteoverload.com with Kitty Purry.
Russell Brand also has a cat. Ack! Suddenly I went from feeling "meh" about Russell to feeling "awwww :3" about him. Why? Because... I love a man who loves cats. It's absurd. Most women love men who love babies or puppies. But nuh uh... anyone can do that. It takes a real man to admit he loves cats.
