Apparently... Zacharias Smith is a Seer, or so he claims. I imagine this is supposed to explain his bouts of melodrama. Of course, if that were the proper explanation, most of the school would have to claim the ability of Sight, including myself. I am certainly no Seer. Nor, I would wager, is most of the school. Historically, true Seers often have difficulty being around other people. It seems modern-day Seers are able to bypass this when surrounded by their own, preferring to gang up on others, bathe themselves in the sympathy of their peers, and act fairly full of themselves at all times (at least during the times they aren't trying for that sympathy). A pity the stereotype did not hold true over time. And let us not forget the question of what this all might mean. After all, any number of students could start making similar claims. By the end of term there will be a dozen Seers, no doubt.
I wonder if the Ravenclaws are upset. If Smith is indeed the author of their little riddle, he should have helped them solve it -- and spared some of us a great deal of effort when it came to finding sources for our Divination projects.
