congratulations!! that's so exciting!

me & brad got married in my parents' back yard. our friend mike married us which was awesome. he didn't know what to say because he'd only done it like once before, so he pretty much just talked to us & joked around the whole time. only both sets of our parents, his brother, mike's wife, & my friend emily came to the actual ceremony. i felt sort of uncomfortable doing something so personal in front of like EVERYBODY. so yeah we didn't really invite anybody. plus, i didn't want anybody to feel left out if they didn't get invited to the actual ceremony, for whatever reason, so an easy way to avoid that was for nobody to be invited. after the ceremony like a million people came over to party with us. we made it a potluck so that we didn't have to spend any money on food (just the cake). plus potlucks are so fun because everybody gets to participate if they want to & there's so much awesome & different food to try.

i made my dress, although (i think) it sort of turned out looking like shit a little bit, i sort of fucked up on it. it wasn't how i'd planned for it to be. but i wore blue 14-eyelet docs with it so that made me happy. & also brad wore jeans & a morrissey t-shirt which was really great i thought.

we made invitations ourselves - i drew little bunny rabbits & rainbows & things & then just xeroxed them & handed them out to everybody i knew. other than that, the only cost was for renting the tables in my parents' yard, plus my mom got new plates & flowers for all the tables & stuff. i don't know how much they spent but it was SOOOOO much less than waht people normally spend on a wedding!
