So I decided to read a crap-load of stuff about the T today for no apparent reason. I found out why the lines are the colors they are, which I had not known. I decided to try to have Dante guess. Here is his attempt:

"The red line signifies the blood of the men who died to build it, the green line signifies the gangrene of the men who died to build it, the blue line signifies the asphyxiation of the men who drowned while building it, the orange line signifies the sunburn of the men who forgot to wear sunblock while building it, etc.?"
