[ NOTES ]: Zero won't turn your character into a vampire if he bites them. But I'm perfectly fine with him being fought off without the bitey! He'll be fighting from the inside too, so it works just as well.
His time there had been nothing short of hell for Zero, and it wasn't just the ghosts that everyone else had to deal with. He's struggled to keep his secret, one so deeply rooted in shame that he can barely stand to admit it to himself. It wasn't his fault that he became what he was. But that didn't stop him from hating himself because of it sometimes. He deserves the suffering. And he's endured as well as anyone could.
Until today.
There was something different when he woke up this morning. He was already angry when he opened his eyes, full of hatred for those damn bloodsuckers. His fears of snapping were magnified to the point where it felt unavoidable, and the not knowing the when or who only made him suffer more. He gripped his head in his hands as the sound of his own heartbeat started drumming in his ears. It was soon joined by another. And then another. The heartbeats of his neighbors.
He had to get out. It had to be something in the apartment. Zero grabbed his shirt, pulling it on before he jerked the door open. The red tape seal was broken. He should've been face to face with the pale woman he always saw through the peephole. It was hard to be relieved that she wasn't when he felt like something worse was to blame.
He stumbled into the hallway, stopping only when he bumped into the wall. He couldn't catch his breath. It had been weeks, but his true self was finally pulling free of this human guise.
