Aaron was still crouched down in his living room after ending the conversation with Badou. At least behind the couch he had a clear view of the door, and if he peered around the furniture he could see the bedroom he'd been sleeping in, taped shut. The tape was steady enough, but the banging coming from inside the room was still frightening him.
Now and then it would stop, leaving the room in a too-quiet lull that had him nervously peeking around the corner, hoping it would end.
It hadn't so far, always starting back up just when he had started to relax, with a violent, rattling noise. Followed, of course by wild scratching at the other side of the bedroom door and the sound of someone throwing things within the room.
He really hoped that tape would hold. And that Badou would hurry. Not that he knew if the other could actually do anything, but the thought of not being alone was comforting in itself!
