"I thought about using a Light Arrow," said Link, his eyes sliding over to Fierce, to see if he thought using something so sacred like a torch was blasphemous or not. It was difficult to see in the gloom. He lifted one shoulder in a half-shrug. "But I felt that the only time attracting the things wouldn't matter would be when they were already on us, and I don't want that to happen. If it goes out, it goes out."

He looked over at Rubi and, reaching up with his free hand, tugged off the red hat from under his hood. He immediately felt a lot colder around the head and ear department, but he at least had the full body of the tunic. She just had padding. (Fierce, he knew, wouldn't be as affected. Or at least, he thought he wouldn't be.)

"Here. It'll keep your head warm."

His feet were already crunching on something, but he didn't point the light down to look. The walls glistened, and every so often the beam of light would hit deep gouges in the wall, glimmering off something which, on a closer inspection, looked more and more like human nails, or even teeth.

There was nothing immediately threatening, but like Rubi said, none of them really thought that there would be until later on. Link heard a breathy sigh somewhere close to his ear, but that was all for a period of time. He kept trudging on, keeping his eyes peeled for a door, for a familiar piece of rubble, for anything of home.
