Strangely, Hayden hadn't known he had any skills with children until coming to Jigoku. He had had no plans for children of his own, and avoided the children of others. Yet since coming there he had dealt with Saria well enough, and Violet. He could even say he honestly missed the girl now that she was home and safe, or as safe as any who left ever were. And now he'd offered to teach the Teutonic Order to read.

He moved about quietly in his apartment, getting a bag of candies he'd bought for Christmas out and moving things about.
