It wasn't that he didn't trust Butterfly to bring back food [quite the opposite really]; it was simply the selection that was in question. After all, a cat's palate was a bit different from his own, and while he felt rather confident in his own ability to gauge the feline's taste, he could not be so blindly accepting of the reciprocal factor.

At least, he figured they'd be set for protein.

The door offers a quiet jingle when he steps into the store. Purposefully left as a note of announcement to his roommate. No need to send the cat jumping because of his own instinct for stealth. Call if courtesy; Sasuke simply wanted to avoid wasting what precious resources there were given the food's penchant for spontaneous degeneration.

His fingers are never far from Kusanagi though. Too aware of the tricks this place likes to play, a cat-and-mouse of nerves and will. And yet, there's not a sliver of ill-at-ease in his demeanor. Only that same self-bred confidence, with head high, gaze steady.

"I hope you collected more than just mil. . ."

The rest of the statement dies as a familiar presence ghosts along his senses. Confirmed a moment later as he turns the corner around a stack of shelves and sees his brother beside the cat. A brief pulse of shock infiltrates his expression: eyes wider, lips caught mid-word, body halted entirely in that step not yet taken.
