LET'S GO RED WINGS *CLAP CLAP CLAPCLAPCLAP!*
I AM STRUGGLING RIGHT NOW WITH FANDOM AND IT MAKES ME SAAAAAAD. FANDOM IS MY HAPPY PLACE, WHYYYYYYYYY.
I have been in Hockey RPF for over a season now (hockey fandom for life), and I get that the Blackhawks are the biggest game in town. In fact, I kind of like it. BUT I NEVER WANT THEM TO BEAT THE RED WINGS. EVER. EVER. EVERRRRRRR.
And if they do, I want people to be straight up honest about it. Like, even opponents should be able to say: we have a goalie that occasionally caves under pressure, but has mostly saved us all season. With the exception of DeKeyser, our young call up defense (ALMOST ALL OF OUR DEFENSE?) shoots a lot instead of passing, WHICH IS A DIFFERENCE IN SYSTEMS AFTER A DECADE OF OLD FART PASSING, and the fact that we overcame and made playoffs, let alone made it to second round, is amaaaazeballs.
I get that the Hawks are stacked front and back, and I give them credit. They very well might beat us in an embarrassing four or five. But to discount our strengths... NO.
I have spent ALL. YEAR. LONG. talking about how "awesome" PKane is... and to be honest, if he gets one more spin o rama UNPROTECTED RUN I will eat my shoe, drive four hours, and beat him in the face with said bitten shoe MYSELF. I can admit where my team lacks, and where others excel. As a lifelong resident of a "dying"* city, I except the same courtesy. AM I CRAZY???!
