here is a very rough draft of a poem i am working on called BANANA DNA
I like how that sounds... banana DNA
smash half a banana,
in a 500 ml beaker.
add 100 ml of salt
mixed with detergent
mixed with meat tenderizer
mixed with water,
incubate while
the cell membrane breaks down.
Move to ice bath
stir gently.
remove from ice bath,
smash some more.
Pour banana,detergent,salt,tenderizer smoothie
into a milk filter
it will smell delicious
but don't eat it.
The filter traps proteins
but allows DNA to pass through, like coffee.
Pour the juice into a test tube.
Keep it cold.
Use a pipette
withdraw 6 ml
of cold ethanol.
DNA will precipitate
out of the banana goo
into the clear ethanol layer.
Use a DNA hook
made out of glass
to swirl DNA out of solution.
Now you can eat it.
