Back to work. I walked in this morning and Larry says, "I made your coffee." He drinks decaf. My response, "What did you do now?"
"Just building up points," he says. "You never know when I'm going to fuck up next." I guess it's good I have a boss that cracks me up.
My last writing class is tomorrow. I know I scored big time the first night when the professor asked, "What is a free write?" Thanks, George! It hasn't been too bad. The assignments were objective and gave me some leeway in terms of the topics. I had to write a narrative essay, and compare/contrast essay, and a persuasive essay. Only the persuasive essay had an assigned topic. The other two I was free to choose my subject. I move on to oral communications next week. I see that the first class assignment is to give a two- to three-minute impromptu speech. Shouldn't be too hard as long as I know something about the subject.
I'm half-assed watching "Jeopardy!" tonight. Like Regis Philbin is such a mental giant. I hate these stupid tournaments, with the exception of the college and champion ones. The questions on the teen tournament are either way too easy or way too hard. For instance, they have questions about history, constellations, and easy algebra equations; on the other hand, they have questions about fashion designers and current pop music. Other than the notion that Britney Spears is a real-live, modern day "Cherry Pop Tart," I don't know shit about the bubble-gum stuff that dominates today's teenagers. Can you still get "Cherry Pop Tart" comics? Haven't checked lately.
Well, off to make some tacos. I'm starving.
