i've been doing some research on the term ADULTERY. it's kind of confusing. but, check this out...
all i could find on the term itself, regarding Tennessee State Law, is that it is means and grounds for divorce. THAT'S IT.
what does that mean entirely?
hrm. well, it means that it's not illegal. there are only 7 states in the U.S. that consider adultery illegal. Tennessee is not one of them. you can use it as an excuse to divorce someone, but that's it.
but what about Military Laws?
this is where it gets really interesting...
Military laws stretch and override state and federal laws. Adultery IS ILLEGAL in the military. however, certain Military Laws (such as, Adultery) only apply when a soldier is on active duty orders for more than 30 days.
what does that mean to me?
well, it means that as a soldier of the TN Army National Guard, i fall under Tennessee state law... not military law. adultery is grounds for divorce, but legally the military can do NOTHING about it.
but i suppose since everyone is so smart, they already knew that. then again, i'm more than likely wrong about that.
