Like the title says, I hate this cold I have.

I'd have hoped I was heading it off on Monday night when I took Airborne as soon as I could feel that little tickle in the back of my throat. Unfortunately, although I seem to be moving reasonably rapidly through the symptoms, I still have them.

In response to J.K. Rowling's recent comments about ( Read more... )

Thank you! It's gone from being mostly congestion and feeling like death warmed over to mostly cough. A distinct improvement.

I've got about six hundred words written--should end up being about three times that in final length, I think.

Good to hear you're feeling a bit better :)

Thanks!

Now I've got about 2700 words of it, and I think it's wanting at least another thousand. Usual story for me, really-whenever I try to write a drabble it always comes out 500 words.

I'm hoping to post it soon, but I may not be able to finish it as quickly as I'd like. My uncle's getting married this weekend, 1200 miles from here. We're driving, cos the state of my father's back means sitting for the duration of a flight isn't a viable option for him now. I'm packing now to leave tomorrow.

You write rather quickly, in my opinion (for what little that's worth). Your drive to write about voyeuristic unicorns is admirable :)

If you don't mind me asking, how is sitting in a car better for your father's back than sitting in an aeroplane? Do you have to stop regularly or something?

Thank you on both counts! It's rather nice to hear that, cos I always feel myself that I write far too slowly.

That's it exactly. With the car he can stop and walk around for a bit whenever he feels he needs to. Besides, there's not a lot of flights going into the city where we're headed (Mobile, Alabama) these days, and flying in usually means multiple connections.

PS
Up to 3400 words. I doubt I'll finish it before I return home from Louisiana round the end of the week, but we'll see. Hopefully I'll have it finished and posted before too long after that.

PPS:

The unicorn fic had to go on the backburner at 6800 words in, because of NaNo. Soon as I'm done with that (33,000 words right now, and we'll see if I can make 50,000 before the end of the month), I'll be going back to finish it up and post it.

Alas, the siren call of NaNoWriMo is greater even than that of voyeuristic unicorns. Good luck on finishing before the 30th!
