I'm pretty certain there's hardly a truly genuine person out there. It's an endangered species. A dying breed.
I'd like to think differently, but I must reluctantly decline.
Deceit runs rampant thru the veins of many, we're all hypocrites, and when it comes down to it, it's every man for himself. Those who've figured that out manipulate the few who actually have compassion. It's quite saddening when you think about it.
I'm constantly reminded why I'm so jaded. Why I rarely trust people.
I'll be the first one to admit that I'm an asshole, a loud mouth, and can come off as crass or lacking tact.
...but at least I can never be accused of being dishonest. I value that more than any candy-coated sugar bullshit that comes from behind the teeth of so many others.
I'd rather be hurt by honesty, than deceived by lies.
I show that same respect in return.
We all tell petty white lies and secrets, but that's not what I'm going on about; those things are trivial.
I go to bed with a clear conscience. We all make bad decisions, and we all have skeletons in our closet - myself included - but I'll never deny mine.
How many people can say that and mean it?
