Last night, Rich came over for dinner. It was nice to hang out with him again, it had been too long. We watched Gonzo - the documentary on Hunter S. Thompson - and may I say if you have not seen it, please do yourself a favor and watch it. The film is very personal & insightful on his life. A bittersweet flick if you will. I enjoyed it tremendously and plan on buying it. So so good.
Today was full of win.
Woke up, bright & early at 7:30am, went to the gym, came home, had breakfast, then decided to say fuck going into work because I wanted to watch the inauguration at home. Not necessarily a wise decision financially, but I honestly doubt this afternoon would've been worthwhile. I don't care, honestly. I'm so glad I stayed home to watch such a historic event. Good riddance to Bush - nothing beat seeing him fly away from DC in that helicopter. But moving onto the positive... President Barack Obama. How fuckin awesome does that sound in comparison?
His speech was moving (as per usual) and I found it especially nice that he even said "non-believers". Wow. It's nice to feel included. Could he seriously not be the coolest president ever? I'm not gonna go into a big sappy monologue about the whole thing, I'll just say this: I'm really happy for this country and hopeful of it's future. Today was definitely a historic day in my generation's lifetime and I was elated to see it take place.
Moving on.... Tonight, I shot a set for Zivity and I'm really happy with the results. Allow me to take this time out and say, damn. I look fucking good. It's really hard for me to give myself credit, but I must say all this discipline in the gym & eating right has really paid off. I seldom give myself a true pat on the back, but I think I deserve it. I'm not trying to be conceited, I'm just saying all the effort I've put forth of getting up early and working out and watching what I eat has really made me feel good about myself. (I let myself have a congratulatory hot coacoa before bed, in fact.)
I've got 3 more weeks before I leave for Vegas. I really hope to keep up my efforts. I can only imagine what the end results will be. Yay!
Also, the set turned out really well, I think. I'm looking forward to seeing it when it all gets put together.
Later on this evening, Alissa, Sunny & myself had a meeting. I cannot divulge any details as to where & why; but I will say that the near future looks like it's going to bring on an amazing opportunity that I'm extremely excited about.
Could it be? Could that old phase of awesome that my life once was be coming back into the light? Oh, wouldn't that be wonderful. These past cloudy months have taken their toll and I'm anticipating a silver lining.
