Mid-October thru Mid-January - THE UPDATE

Jan 15, 2009 03:23

Who knows why I stayed up to do this... I guess I just finally wanted to get it done. Some of this has been posted already; I just copied & pasted from MySpace (it posted all funky, I know; and no I'm not motivated to fix it). This is more to keep my OCD ass sane because we all know if I put something in one spot, I gotta put it here too - just for my own personal fulfillment. I'm such a weirdo.

Loooooonnnggg overdue.... Highlights and recaps from the past 3 months...

OCTOBER

- My friend Hannah and I saw Religulous. So good. My weird crush for Bill Mayer still lives on. Watch it if you haven't.

-
Hannah & I met up with Chelsae & Nessy for a drag show at Axis.
Wow. Nina West is all types of awesome. No wonder she's Entertainer of
the Year. The show was Andy Warhol themed and all types of fabulous.
The rest of my evening (where I said I was gonna take it easy and NOT
stay out) consisted of more drinks with CJ at 2 other bars and late
night exercising. The drunken Cindy Crawford workout is my hot new
trend.

- I went to Canada.
I needed to escape. Be away from
the familiarity and just enjoy time away in a different place, take
some deep breaths and catch up with myself. Not too much excitement
while I was there, just a relaxing time. While I was there, I had a
photoshoot. Here's a picture from it...

The
rest of the trip was short & sweet..... not to mention the
wonderful stop & search at the border. Leave it to me to not have
my birth certificate and then chaos ensues. I'm a terrorist in the eyes
of the good ol' U S of A.

- I got my hair dyed at Sin City Hair. Guess you could say I got the blues now....

-
Went down to Cincy to hang out with my favorite people. Micah and I had
our usual Comet dinner date; then it was off to Fathead & Hooper's
Halloween party. I dressed up as Chilly Willy the penguin. (Kickin old
school cartoon style... in pure geek fashion, that is)

The
party was mucho fun times. I managed to drink almost an entire bottle
of vodka all by myself... uh... not too sure that's something to be
proud of. Eek!

- Rich & I took on the great Ikea shopping
spree of 08! My entire house is pretty much from there. Yes. I have a
macbook and I bought Ikea furniture. Add now that my friend's got me
hooked on chai tea from Starbuck's - I'm officially the whitest person
ever.

-
The end of October consisted of my bff JoLeigh coming to visit,
partying it up with lots of fun gals, Trauma - where I walked in a
runway show and danced the night away, and SG Havana Halloween party -
where I was all types of drunk. I've still yet to post pictures from
all of this. Fail.

NOVEMBER

- I moved into my new
apartment (that I absolutely ADORE). Love the location, love my
neighbor, love being so near to everything awesome, and I'm finally
gettin the place to look like someone lives here besides boxes
everywhere.

- Fuck yeah.
Barack Obama won the election.
Words cannot express how happy I was. History was made.
I cried watching Obama's acceptance speech. Just wow. So happy.

-Sherwin Williams "Cover the earth (and your car)"
The
inside of my car got covered in blue paint because Sherwin Williams
doesn't know how to put the lid on a can of paint. This minor
afterthought cost their company over $4,000.... so I think their new
slogan should be:
"Buy our paint and you just might win 4 grand!"
All
jokes aside, this really sucked. Fortunately everything got taken care
of and it no longer looks like a smurf spontaneously combusted in the
backseat. Yippy.

- My birthday was good times... many blurry memories and randomness like...
- "The word on the street is the serial rapist is NOT a nice guy"
- 10 min long voicemails should not happen
- I woke up with a bloody lip and I didn't know why
- Fighting with a taxi cab driver "5TH & 4TH DO NOT CONNECT!!!"
- Lots & lots & LOTS of drinks.... and no hangover.
Fun stuff. Thanks to all you cats who made it fab.

- Saw NIN with Rich, Krystal, Fathead, & Hooper. Easily one of the most gorgeous shows I've ever seen.

-
Krystal became an SG in crazy record timing. Me = so happy. It's good
to have a close friend who lives somewhat nearby to pal around with at
all the SG events now.

- Getting arrested.
I'm not going into
the long story that this is, but I assure you it's seriously the most
ridiculous situation I've ever been in.
Long story short: I got
arrested because Mr. Lawman thought I was trying to run from the cops
when actually I didn't even know they were trying to pull me over.
== Fucking clown shoes. ==
The
amount of money I've already had to drop for this is retarded, and
there's only gonna be more of that. *so annoyed* The legal system can
eat my ass for breakfast. Nom nom nom....

DECEMBER

- Say goodbye to an icon...

-
Living downtown has it's pros & cons (ok actually all pros...
except the temptation to go out with friends every night & party
has made me quite irresponsible. Eek!) Oh well... it's all in the name
of fun, right?
I cannot tell you what a great time I've had going
to a show with Nicole (Duke Spirit & Detroit Cobras), going out
with Cherie, Sunshine (this girl is the reason I don't go to work the
next day, haha!), & Chelsae. Good good times for sure.... my liver
probably hates me though, hehe...

- The new SG book came out and I'm in it. How fuckin rad?!? I love it. Love love love it!

-
My living room wall is blue. Hooray! (Big thanks to Rob for offering
his painting skills.) My bedroom is a dark chocolate dungeon - LOVE - I
finally have curtains - hello privacy! - and I've got a bookcase to
boot. I still have a lot of unpacking, organizing, and some more
painting to do, but my place is really coming together the way I
wanted.
*sighs* I feel like such a grown up. I get a hard on going into Ikea and buying a chandelier. How old am I???

-
I shot yet another set, no details, but here's a pic of the "do" I had
for it. It was quite swank if I do say so myself. CJ is a hair god.

-
Shot a multi with Krystal. Some serious sexual business banana action
took place. (Don't ask) It was damn near impossible to take it
seriously when Alissa was doing creepy perv noises, I've got a huge
window that faces the neighbors, and Krystal & I were lit up on
wine. Too much ridiculous.

- Rich, Krystal & I were supposed
to go up to Cleveland to see The Faint, but old man winter took a shit
on us. It was freezing rain central and with the way my luck has been,
I didn't feel like risking the drive. I was incredibly bummed to miss
out on seeing them; but being a dead frozen corpse on the highway
didn't sound very appealing.
The evening kept us in the city; we had
dinner at 185, drinks at Bodega, and later met Sunshine for some more
nonsense at Surly Girl. The night wasn't an entire loss in the end.

-
Remember that bad luck streak I've been having? Yeah.... it's
continued... going strong actually. I woke up one day to a wonderful
busted window. Yippy. Yes, my first victim experience as a downtown
gal. What infuriates me even more is that there was absolutely nothing
in my car, so the busted window was for nothing. Way to go asshole.
Hope you choke on your crack pipe or whatever you so badly needed to
acquire that you had to vandalize other's property. Go fucking die.

-
I finally broke down and decided to hire a housekeeper. Yes, I hopped
on the failboat of paying someone else to clean up my mess; but the
idea of never having to scrub my bathtub again sounds amazing.

HOLIDAYS ARE HERE AND GONE - YAY!

- I hope everyone had a great holiday season.
My
x-mas was... well... interesting. It wasn't bad by any sort, just...
strange. It was nice reuniting with the pops - though brief, we hadn't
spoke in over 2 and a half years - and I love seein my grandma; but
other than that I'm happy that I've got 12 more months til I have to do
it all over again. Needless to say I'm glad all the holiday hooplah is
over.
My x-mas evening ended sweet - curled up on the couch with my
cat watching The Godfather. I would marry Michael Corleone and never
abort his baby. *swoons*

- How was your New Years?
Mine
was too much fun. Micah & Krystal came into town to celebrate the
year away. New Year's Eve with 2 of my best friends ftw! Stacie,
Cherie, Crystal, Chelsae, Nicole, and Moxy were around for the
festivities as well. We dined, we drank at Havana --- I got accosted by
a strange man in the women's restroom --- and we partied the night
away.
*** Random quote of the night: "See that van. Someone's getting raped!"
After the ball drop a few of us went to my fave bar where drinks ran over like the Niagra.
<<<<
Note - Making sexual hand gestures at the bartender will not get you
served any faster. Yes sir, we are impressed that you know how to
please a woman but stop doing that with your hands >>>>
My gracious thank you's go out to the bartenders at 185. You are all wonderful & dangerous at the same time.

MOVING ONTO THE PRESENT

Random vanity...

Someone
decided I should be on the air. Why? Last week I did a show on
TalkRadioX with Tyler Hollywood. It was filled with my nonsense.

In
addition to last week's festivities, Crystal was in town so a handful
of us gals went out to Spice to celebrate her birthday. Good times of
course. Crystal was "no longer a human being." Oh the madness, the
drinks, the lysol.

Thursday, I found myself on the brink of
insanity. I'm a tough cookie, but when the chips are down, sometimes I
gotta tap out of rational and take a trip to crazy. I decided to cut
loose and make a break for Krystal's. We got all dolled up and drunk
fantastic at The Dock - ran into Hooper too. I was Ziggy Stardust.
*cues Krystal playing David Bowie*

Tomorrow
I'll be going to SG Night at Havana. There's an art show at KickStart
beforehand - I actually have a piece of art in it. *shock* Yes, part
of 2009 is getting back into art. Go me.

The next morning I go
to my court hearing - otherwise known as utter bullshit. I'm hoping to
get the situation resolved, but more than likely will spend the time
sitting in the lobby while my overpriced lawyer dances around for the
prosecutor once again. So much fun. Wish me luck...

January is
already flying by with lightning speed. I cannot believe it's already
mid-month. The end of the month sheds light on some fun activities
though, so I hope it hurries...
- I'm going to see Kings of Leon here on the 27th. *stoked*
-
I'l be the guest dj on our local radio station CD101 on the 30th from
1-2pm. Yes, me controlling the musical air waves for an hour.
Delicious. May I say that I love living in a city that actually has a
GOOD radio station... you can listen to it live via the interweb. Check
it out.
- I'm hoping to make it to Tikki's SG Ohio snowtubing get together.

February future....
-
I'm having a Super Bowl Party (wanna come?). I will be tickled pink if
both the Steelers & the Eagles make it to the Super Bowl. They're 2
of my favorite teams. *wiggles*
- I just discovered a local band
that I absolutely adore. They're called The Receiver. They're playin at
Skully's Feb 6th, and I hope to see them.
- The ups & downs of
my life continue; but the silver lining was booking a flight to Las
Vegas. Come February 11th that's where I will be - an entire week,
with some of my best friends, seeing the very first Puscifer show, and
even more debauchery that I cannot divulge at this time. *so stoked*
You don't even know.... I just hope my legal & financial troubles
are cleared up by then. *crosses fingers*

I'll end with some introspective type goodness....

I
must say I'm pleased to say goodbye to 2008. Although the year had some
great memories, it certainly was a year of change, not to mention the
last 2 months being utter shite.
**** Seriously, 08 can kindly fuck off where November & December are concerned. ****
Recap
- 2008 brought the beginning of new friendships, the end of others, fun
trips to new places, incidents that challenged my sanity and spirit, a
new home, sayin goodbye to a close relationship and the life I had
known for 3 years, my first arrest, reuniting with my father, the
passing of a friend, and an overall reevaluation of who I am.
I
come into this new year unknowing what lies ahead, but I've found that
my positive demeanor has always kept me afloat during rough times. I'm
not saying life in Lacyland has been horrible - it certainly has it's
fab moments, but things have been a bumpy ride as of late. However, I
can always look back and think upon times that were much worse, so I
remind myself to keep my head up and things will be on the up & up
in due time. *positive thoughts*

Kudos to anyone who actually reads this whole thing. You're insane... or have no life whatsoever.
