Happiness = Vindication!

So. I'm moving. And the main, #1 reason I am leaving my current apartment (though high rent is a close #2), is because waaay back, months ago, I was told that the office had never recieved my original $200 security deposit. Which was a big, fat lie. I had paid them, and I still had the money order stub to prove it. Except, when I took it to the account manager, he told me, rather condecendingly, that that wasn't enough. Which, from a legal standpoint, was right, but what pissed me off was that he completely did not take me seriously. I was standing there, pretty much accusing his company of stealing money from a resident, and he didn't even think it was important enough to look into, if only to prove me wrong. I ended up having to pay the deposit again. Grrrrrrrrr!
So I ordered a trace of the money order, which arrived a couple of days ago, and showed that to them. The account manager this time was a different guy, who actually did take me seriously (hard not to when I had solid proof), and called me back today to say, yes, I was right. Turns out the money was credited to the person who lived here before me.
And now, I get my money back, plus what I spent on the trace! Yaaaaay, I can eat now!

Current mood:
giggly
