Summary: Bunta comes to fix the mess Hazue's little prank made of Kaidoh's hair.
Bunta hummed a tune as he walked the short distance to get to Kaidoh's room. He hadn't known if Kaidoh would use the hair dye he had bought, but it turned out Hazue chose that for him. Well, the younger could always dye it black again, but it seemed like he hadn't thought about that. Or he wasn't as upset as he seemed since he had an excuse to dye it now. He knocked on the door. “Kaidoh-kun, open up~”
Kaidoh had managed to wash out all the shampoo and hairdye a moment ago, and had pulled on a tank-top and shorts. When he heard the knock followed by Bunta's voice, he tugged at the towel that cover his hair more. Okay, so people might already know, since he wouldn't be surprised if Hazue had told someone while running off. He opened the door to let Bunta inside.
Bunta walked in, grinning at the towel covering the younger's hair. “Is it that bad? You knew it was me, didn't need to hide it.” He looked around. “So where's the rest of the dye?”
“Still... in the bottle Hazue put it in..” Kaidoh muttered, closing the door. “As far as I know...” He walked into the bathroom and got the bottle in question. “..this..” he gave Bunta the bottle.
“I meant that from the beginning, you know. You really are gone, aren't you?” Bunta gave Kaidoh's forehead a light poke. He weighed the bottle in his hand. “But yeah, I think there's enough left. Now take that off.” He tugged at the towel.
Kaidoh hesitated, then pulled off the towel from his head, revealing his hair being filled with spots of brown among the base of the originally black color. “...now what..?”
Bunta laughed. Why did he hesitate? He would have to take it off anyway if they were going to fix it. “Just get a chair and sit there. I'll fix the rest.”
“R-right...” Kaidoh did as he was told, and sat fidgeting on the chair. What would people say? And Seven Lines? And... Tezuka-buchou and all the other regulars..
“Sit still,” Bunta ordered. “If you move like that, it'll take longer time.”
Kaidoh froze, and sat as still as he could. “A-ahh...” But this was hard. He still didn't know what he was supposed to think.
“Don't worry, I'm good at this.” He had dyed his own hair plenty of times. He started to work on the younger's hair as he continued to talk. “I'm pretty sure you'll look good in this shade. Good choice, even if you weren't looking.”
Kaidoh stopped himself from moving his head, but still averted his gaze towards the floor. “Th-thanks... I... guess....?” he stuttered out.
“Skip the 'I guess'.” He gave the younger a poke to the back of his head, before going back to what he was doing.
“H-haaahh...” Kaidoh nodded, then caught himself and stopped moving his head. “Right...”
“You know, I wouldn't have thought you were a shy guy the first time I met you.” But then that had been during a match. If that counted.
Kaidoh blushed and hissed in embarrassment. “Sh-shut up..”
“No way.” Marui let out a laugh. “It's true anyway.”
“No... Not really...” Kaidoh continued to let out a low hiss. “I don't know...” He knew he was shy, but it wasn't as if he had gone shy because he wanted.
“Well, some people are shy, some aren't.” Marui shrugged, silent for the rest of the process of applying the hair dye to the younger's head. “There. Now we just wait.”
Kaidoh hissed. It itched, and he wanted to do something about it, but if he did, he'd just get sticky.
Wrapping his fingers tightly around the seat of the chair he was sitting on, he bit his lip to remind himself not to scratch.
The redhead held in a laugh. It was obvious what Kaidoh wanted to do, but couldn't. “We could watch something. It'll work as a distraction for you.”
Looking up, Kaidoh hissed again. “Ah... Hai...” he nodded. “Sure..”
“You got anything you wanna watch?” He didn't know if Kaidoh owned any movies or not, and if he did, what sort of movies.
“You can pick something if you want..” motioning towards a bookshelf, one of the rows was filled with movies of different kinds. He, for one, didn't really dare to move at the moment.
“Okay.” Marui walked over to the mentioned bookshelf, looking through the titles. He grabbed one at random, holding it so that Kaidoh could see what movie it was. “How 'bout this one?”
“Ah, sure.” Kaidoh nodded. It was a good movie, so he didn't mind, even though he had watched it a couple of times before.
The redhead nodded. “Let's watch it then. Time'll go faster, and we'll rinse your hair in no time at all.”
Another nod. “Haaahh..” If he said so. Kaidoh didn't know, that was for sure.
