Rating: Somewhere between PG and PG-13 sounds good
When: The Friday before White Day
Where: Amusement Park
Summary: Part 2 of the date: More rides. That stupid Soda kiss. *poutpoutpout* Wtfcrazycake. And overall, it's learned/revealed that the boys can't keep their hands off each other. Part 2 of a giant, awesome log. :D
“Wanna go ride something now?” It’d been a few minutes and the redhead was looking better. “How about that one?” It was the Ferris Wheel. Seemed like an appropriately enough calm ride for them to go on after that whole...misadventure.
“Sounds good.” There were no ghosts there, and it was sort of private and all.. He took Akaya’s hand and stood up again.
They joined the line and waited. “So, you don’t like scary things.” Add this to the list of things Akaya didn’t know but was learning. “No haunted houses and no scary movies, I guess.”
“Yeah.” Marui nodded. “So no horror movies.” It was sort of stupid, he knew that, but he couldn’t help it. But there were a lot of people who didn’t like it, so it was alright. “And no more of those houses.” Well, the making out had sort of worked as some sort of therapy.. if only they hadn’t been separated after that.
“Good to know,” Akaya said, mentally filing the information away. He’d have to try and remember that so he didn’t accidentally do something that’d freak the older guy out. “So, what kind of movies do you like?” Might as well fill the time while they waited in the line.
“Things like Pirates of the Caribbean. Funny and adventure.” Marui replied. They were fun to watch, but with action in them. “So,” he looked up at Akaya. “how ‘bout you?”
“Lots of action and fighting.” He grinned and added, “explosions help too.” Akaya thought for a minute. “Pirates isn’t too bad. It could have more fighting and less of that whole love thing but it’s not the worst.”
“Well, the fun and the action’s the main part why I like it.” Marui grinned up at the younger boy. “That love thing isn’t as interesting.” Not in movies, at least. He agreed that there should be more action and fighting.
Akaya nodded. Exactly his sentiments. He wondered what else he didn’t know about the guy though. Seemed like he should know as much as he could. That’s what people who were dating were like, right? They knew everything about each other. “Favorite color?”
“Pink,” the shorter answered. Well, he liked most colours, and things that were really colourful. “and green.” he added before asking Akaya the same. “And you?”
“Red, blue, and yellow,” Akaya replied automatically. He could never pick just one. They were all three awesome and bright. Plus, they made all the other colors. So that made the three of them the best.
Marui laughed at how fast the answer came. Finally their turn to get on the ride, he pulled Akaya with him.
Akaya sat on one side of the car, looking out as they started to move. “We should come back sometime,” he told the other boy, eyes trained on the park and not the going on’s in the car.
“Sure.” Marui nodded as he sat down opposite of Akaya. He looked down at the amusement park as they started to leave the ground.
The car was quiet as they went up. But it wasn’t an awkward quiet that needed to be filled. It was the comfortable kind that happened when two people were relaxed around each other. Still didn’t stop Akaya from fidgeting slightly. He hated when things were just absolutely silent. The boy liked noise, liked things going on.
The redhead let out a laugh at Akaya’s fidgeting. He leaned forward a bit, leaning his cheeks against his hands, that were resting on his knees, just watching his boyfriend for a couple of seconds. “Hey Akaya,” he started, “are you uncomfortable or something?”
“Too quiet,” the younger muttered. “It’s not bad...just there needs to be noise.” Or something. Anything to distract from the quiet.
“So you got anything in mind?” Marui asked, moving a little where he sat. He could agree that it was too quiet.
Akaya glanced over at the older boy. “Not really,” he admitted. He just knew he didn’t like the quiet. Didn’t mean he had a solution to it. “You?”
Marui jumped over and sat down next to Akaya. “Weeell..”
“Well what?” Akaya asked, still waiting for an answer. He gave Marui an expectant look.
Instead of giving a verbal answer, Marui pressed a kiss to his boyfriend’s lips. “Enough of an answer?” he asked, a slight grin on his face.
“I don’t know,” Akaya replied, smirking. “I think I need another answer before I can really decide.”
“Mm, I think I could give you that.” Marui moved a little closer to the younger boy, attacking Akaya’s lips with his own.
Akaya put his arms around the older guy’s neck, pulling him a little closer. “This is something,” he told Marui.
“Good.” Marui murmured, lips moving against Akaya’s as he spoke, shifting ever so little to get even closer than they already were.
A shiver went through the younger. He pulled back a little and gave Marui a look. “Don’t do that.” The way the words had felt against his lips...they were tingling right now.
“Why not?” Marui asked, just a bit confused. “Don’t like it?”
“Felt funny,” was the answer as the younger went red. “Weird and...tingly.”
Marui laughed. “Weird bad or weird good?” Because there was a big difference between the two.
Akaya looked out the window, hiding how red his face was going as he replied, “good weird.” Gah, so embarrassing.
“So why telling me not to do it?” Marui guided Akaya’s face back, so he could look into his eyes. “If it wasn’t bad?”
“Because it was weird.” Made him feel weird. He wasn’t going to admit that one though. “Really weird.”
Marui felt a grin slip onto his face. He leaned in towards the other, letting their lips brush. “But still a good weird.”
That shiver went through Akaya again. “Sempai...” he whined.
“Hmm..?” The redhead murmured against his lips. “What, Akaya..?”
“Why do you keep doing that?” Akaya was pretty sure he was going to just spend this whole ride shivering if Marui kept that up. Every single time. He couldn’t help it. It was just an automatic reaction.
“Because if you’re making me blush all the time, I can do this to you, right?”
Okay, time to stop that. Akaya gave a small growl and kissed his boyfriend to get the guy to shut up and stop with the whole ‘make Akaya’s lips tingle’ thing.
Marui didn’t complain as he was kissed, and he was happy to answer the kiss, pressing closely against the other boy.
Akaya put his arms around Marui’s neck. This was good. They’d have to do things like this more often. He broke it off for a moment, needing air. “We’re at the top,” he couldn’t help but notice. When had they gotten there?
Marui only half registered the younger’s words. “Ah, you’re right..” he said as he looked out. Had they been in this thing for that long already? Felt shorter..
“I feel like I can see into forever,” Akaya grinned. “Everyone looks like little ants.” He pointed to the ground. “So itty bitty.” He made a pinching motion with his fingers.
Marui laughed. Really, they did. “Small, colourful ants. And that ‘forever’ part makes you sound poetic.”
He made a face. “Wasn’t trying to be,” he said, referring to the poetic part. “And don’t expect me to be saying that kind of crap either.” Akaya grinned though and added, “squish them with me,” as he continued to pinch the people on the ground.
“Leave the poetic things to others.” Marui agreed. He snorted with laughter. “You’re really just a bratling.” he murmured, but did as told.
“But at least I’m your bratling.” Akaya kept squishing the people, laughing. He knew he was a brat. He was told it all the time. He didn’t care.
“Yup. All mine.” Marui stated, feeling a slight blush creep onto his cheeks as he did. His, and he wouldn’t share him with anyone.
Akaya glanced over at his boyfriend, happy to see the pink cheeks. “We’re a good pair,” he declared, giving the guy a peck on the cheek.
Marui smiled, wrapping his arms around Akaya’s waist. “We are. The best.”
“It’s why we’re going to win that doubles match against Kikumaru and his partner.” Akaya grinned widely. “Still need to finish that match against him.”
“Of course we are.” Marui agreed. “And then they’re gonna treat us to food.”
“Yakiniku,” Akaya decided. “They should take us out for yakiniku.” Because meat = delicious.
“That, I can’t disagree on.” Marui nodded. That sounded like a great idea.
“Yakiniku~yakiniku~yakiniku~” Akaya sang happily. About the only thing he liked more was sushi.
“Cute.” Marui laughed, giving the other a tight hug. Akaya really was acting cute right now.
“I’m not cute. I’m anything but that,” Akaya said, frowning. “Take it back.”
“Why~?” The redhead was still laughing. “You are~”
Akaya crossed his arms, pouting. “Not cute.” Because being cute was for kids and animals. Not tough guys like Akaya. “So take it back,” he said, being unruly.
“And you go call me cute all the time.” Marui couldn’t resist the urge to kiss Akaya. That pout! It made him look so childish. And cute.
“That’s because you are,” Akaya struggled to keep the ornery expression on his face. It was hard when you were being kissed though. “I’m not though. Not at all cute in anyway way.”
“If I’m cute, you can be cute too.” Marui chuckled silently at Akaya’s expression, giving him another kiss. “Don’t be grumpy, Akaya.”
“Not being grumpy,” Akaya kept pouting, finding it increasingly hard to keep from smiling. It’d be a lot easier if a certain someone didn’t keep kissing him.
“Sure you’re not.” Marui smiled, showering the younger’s face with kisses.
His expression slipped and a smile cracked through for a brief moment. Akaya tried to scowl and that failed too. At least his arms were still crossed.
Marui’s smile widened, having noticed the other’s brief smile. He had won, and they both knew it. He tugged at Akaya’s arms and moved them to wrap around him instead of just being crossed over his chest. Wrapping his own arms around Akaya’s neck, he pressed several soft kisses to his boyfriend’s face.
“You cheated,” Akaya muttered. “I didn’t kiss you when you were trying to be grumpy.” Not that he could really remember a time when Marui tried to be grumpy. That was besides the point.
“You’re welcome to do that next time, then.” Marui let out a laugh, still kissing the other all across his face.
Akaya shook his head and reach up, putting his hands on either side of the older boy’s face. “If you’re going to kiss me, do it right.”
“Oh?” Violet eyes shone with laughter. “And how do I do that?” he teased.
The younger gave an annoyed growl. “Like this,” he said, knowing his boyfriend fully knew what he meant but still kissing the guy anyway.
Marui smiled into the kiss. He answered it, letting his hands travel through Akaya’s already messy hair.
If his eyes had been open, anyone would have seen them rolling at the feel of Marui’s hands in his hair. As it was, Akaya let his hands drop from where they held the older boy’s face.
Marui didn’t want the kiss to end just yet, or really, not until they had to, so he shuffled closer to Akaya, so close that he was almost sitting in the other’s lap.
One hand on the back of Marui’s neck, Akaya tried to pull the guy even closer. It was just how it was. He wanted to be as close as he possibly could to the older boy.
As Akaya pulled him ever so slightly closer, the redhead climbed up on Akaya’s lap. Kissing the other boy, or just being close or holding hands, was something he thought he was becoming addicted to.
The car came to a stop. Akaya whined slightly as he knew what that meant. Time to get off. He pouted. “Now what?” He asked as they were forced to get off the ride.
Marui gave him a cheeky grin, cheeks flushing. “We could always go again~” he said. “Or find another ride, if you’d prefer that.”
As fun the ferris wheel had been, Akaya kind of liked the idea of going on something else. “You pick this time,” he told his boyfriend.
“Hmm.” Marui thought for a while. “Some sort of water ride, maybe? Something that’s fast.”
“Onward ho!” Akaya agreed. “There’s got to be one around here somewhere. At least, something fast.”
“Yes!” Marui bounced a bit in his step as they looked for the closest ride, that seemed fun enough. Grinning, he pointed to one. “See, it’s both water and fast!”
Akaya nodded. “Let’s just hope that Soda doesn’t get soaked,” he said, poking the stuffed animal Marui still held. “Wouldn’t want him to get ruined.”
“If he does,” Marui held up the stuffed toy to look at it. “we’ll just dry it. Right?” He grinned up at Akaya.
“True.” Akaya poked it again. “Still don’t get what it’s supposed to be.” He stretched and quickened his pace.
Marui followed, letting out a laugh. “I told you. It’s a soda animal.”
“Soda weird,” Akaya said, shaking his head. “It’s weird, that’s what it is.” He looked at the ride and at the people getting off it. “We’re gonna get soaked.”
“Aw, you’re hurting poor Soda’s feelings.” Marui put on a fake little pout, but it didn’t stay on his lips for long. “So? Let’s get on it!” He liked those sort of water rides the best. That meant that they were really fast and fun.
“It’s a stuffed animal,” Akaya replied, deadpan look on his face. He nodded though. “Line’s just up ahead,” he added. He looked and grinned, “let’s go on that after this,” he said, pointing to another fast ride.
“It can still get hurt.” Marui grinned and put the stuffed animal up to Akaya’s face as they got into the line. “Give it a kiss and it’ll feel much better?” he teased. He nodded in agreement to what ride they would get on after this, though.
Akaya gave his boyfriend a look that clearly read ‘are you kidding me?’ He shook his head. “A toy can’t get its feelings hurt,” he added. “And you’re crazy if you think I’m going to kiss it.”
“What if I’m crazy.” Marui’s grin widened. “Then give me one instead of Soda. He’ll be very happy.”
“That’ll just make you happy,” Akaya pointed out. “And it’s still a stuffed animal. It doesn’t have emotions.” He lightly bopped the older boy on the head. “So stop being silly.” It was his job to be the goofy, childish one.
The redhead pouted slightly at the bop to the top of his head. “I can be silly,” he claimed, burrowing his face in the stuffed animal’s body for a moment, nuzzling it. It was softer than it looked, he thought.
“Hey now, don’t be like that,” Akaya pouted, poking his boyfriend. “If it means that much, I’ll kiss the stupid toy, okay?”
Marui let out a small laugh at that. He hadn’t been upset, maybe just for half a second. But if Akaya took it as that.. He held up the toy again. “Here you go.”
Akaya clearly had an expression on his face that read ‘do I really have to?’ He shook his head and gave the stupid toy a quick peck. If he’d known how much of a pain it’d be, he’d have never won it for the redhead.
Marui laughed, giving Akaya a kiss on the cheek. “Thank you.” he grinned. “Good boy.”
“Not a pet,” he grumbled, “or a kid.” Akaya bopped his boyfriend lightly again. Yeah, he really should have never gotten the stupid stuffed animal. That was a decision that definitely seemed to be haunting him now.
“Didn’t say you were.” Marui hooked arms with the younger boy, still laughing. Really, he got less opportunity to tease the other now that he only went into a blushing mess around him, so he had to take his chances.
Akaya sulked, trying to ignore the laughing boy next to him. Finally it was their turn to get on the ride. They weren’t able to get the front seat this time but the back was good too, he decided. Akaya took his seat, unable to hide the smile and excitement on his face.
Marui sat down in the seat next to the younger boy, and it was just barely that he could stop himself from clapping his hands like a child in excitement. This ride would be fun! He turned to Akaya. “Aw, c’mon, don’t sulk. Do you want another kiss as compensation?”
“Just don’t make me do something silly like kiss a stuffed animal again, okay?” Akaya nudged where Soda sat at their feet, the only attempt they were making at keeping the thing dry.
“As long as you promise to give me lots of kisses~” And let him kiss Akaya whenever he wanted. That would do, too. “So you want one?” He didn’t let Akaya answer the question before pressing their lips together in a quick kiss. He wanted another kiss before the ride started, so he’d just have to steal it himself.
“You just want me for my lips,” Akaya pouted for a moment but he couldn’t keep it together as he started laughing, leaning on the older boy so he wouldn’t whack his head on the ride. It took off.
“You mind?” Marui grinned before letting out a happy laugh as the ride started. Fast, right away!
“Not if I’m the only one you’re using,” Akaya shrugged just as they hit a bump and were splashed.
Marui let out a small squeal at the water. He answered Akaya with a happy “of course!”
“Cold!” Akaya shouted as another wave hit them and their car. So cold. He scooted a little closer to Marui.
Marui didn’t mind Akaya getting closer to him at all. Well it was supposed to be cold, wasn’t it? At least he hadn’t been to any water ride of this sort with warm water. He laughed as there was a turn, and more water splashed over them.
“Why is it so cold?” Akaya grumbled, moving even closer. He’d been on water rides before but for some reason, this was the only one that seemed to have ice water.
“It’s not that cold.” Marui grinned. He pursed his lips in thought. “Or are you going sick?” A hand reached up to feel Akaya’s forehead.
“I never get sick,” Akaya shot back, pushing the hand away. “And it so is cold.”
“So you’re saying you’re an idiot.” Marui stated, half teasing, half worried that he would get sick. “It’s cold but not the coldest.”
Akaya glared and scooted away. “So not an idiot.” He looked out the side of the ride just in time to get a face full of water.
Marui burst out laughing, scooting over to his boyfriend. “What about ‘idiots don’t get sick’? Heard that one before?” He nuzzled the other’s neck, pulling him close to himself. “C’mere.”
“Kind of hard to come over to you when you’re almost on top of me,” Akaya chuckled.
“Can only be ‘almost’ here, right?” the redhead teased. He coughed as he had swallowed some of the water that splashed over them as he spoke.
“You okay?” Akaya asked as the ride slowed down as they climbed a small hill.
“Yeah.” Marui nodded, coughing subsiding. He laughed. That happens when you can’t keep your mouth shut, he supposed. It wasn’t like it was the first time this happened, either.
Akaya sat up straight, trying to peer over the heads of the people in front of them. “Get ready for it,” he warned.
Nodding again, the grin from just before crept its way back onto Marui’s lips.
Looking forward, Akaya didn’t noticed. He let out an excited yell and they were hurtling down the hill, a pool of icy cold water just waiting at the bottom.
Marui laughed loudly as they reached the bottom, water splashing just about everywhere, soaking them. It was cold, yes, but he didn’t mind if it was in rides like this.
Akaya yelped as the cold water hit him. “Too cold,” he decided.
Marui laughed and snuggled up to him. “So we’ll do something warmer after this?”
“I thought we were going on that really fast-looking ride,” Akaya said, pouting as the ride slowed down to let them off.
“Well, can warm you up a bit, first.” Marui teased, poking Akaya on the nose. “Wouldn’t want you to catch a cold, even if you say you don’t get sick.”
“And just how are you planning on warming me up?” Akaya asked as they got out of their seats. He scowled for a moment before grabbing the soaked Soda.
“Hmm.. There should be somewhere warm around here~” Marui looked around, before looking up at Akaya with a slightly sheepish expression on his face. “Or I could warm you up like this~” He wrapped his arms around his boyfriend’s body.
Akaya let himself be held. “You’re cold too,” he whined, trying to snuggle closer.
“We’ll warm up each other, then~” Marui rubbed the younger boy’s back to get him a bit warmer, firmly enough so that he wouldn’t tickle him.
“Let’s just go on the next ride, ‘kay?” Something fast would help dry their clothes out and that’d work on making them warm again too. Akaya grinned as he looked over at the ride he’d pointed out earlier. Full of cars that went around in a circle fast then after little bit, it slowed down and went in reverse just as fast.
“Sure.” Marui grinned, hooking arms with his boyfriend. He started to pull him towards the ride. “Let’s go~”
“Take your stuffed animal,” Akaya said, still holding the soaked Soda. He’d rather not carry the thing around.
Marui took the wet toy out of Akaya’s hands. He laughed. “He’s kinda heavy now.” He’d dry off soon enough, though.
“That’s ‘cause it’s full of water.” The younger boy rolled his eyes. Pulling them over to the line for the next ride, he leaned against the rail. “So, what’d you want to be when you were a kid?”
“That was random.” Marui rolled his own eyes in turn. “But I wanted to be a chef. Think I’d still become one if I didn’t join this though.” He pursed his lips in thought. “Yeah.. maybe. What about you?”
Akaya shrugged. Random was random. “I wanted to be an airplane.” Yeah, a physical plane. Not a pilot. An airplane. “You can still be a chef,” he added, grinning, “just my personal chef.”
The redhead let out a warm laugh at that. “That’s even more random. An airplane. How cute.” He gave the younger boy a hug, holding on to him for a while before pressing a quick kiss to Akaya’s cheek. “Sure, why not?”
“I wanted to see the world. What better way than to be an airplane?” Akaya shook his head, brushing his curls out of his face. “Yes! You make awesome food.”
“That is kind of smart, actually. Only that it’s sort of hard.” Marui ruffled Akaya’s hair just as the younger had pushed it away, making it fall back into his eyes on purpose. “And thanks.”
“Hey!” Akaya pushed the hair back again. “I was four...” He knew he couldn’t be an airplane now. A kid was allowed to dream though, right?
“So you were a really cute kid then.” The redhead grinned, ruffling his hair again, just to tease him.
“Stop that,” Akaya growled, pushing the curls away a third time. “I need a haircut.” Yep, first thing he was going to do: get a haircut and have these stupid curls cut short so they’d be manageable again. “I was four. Of course I was cute.” Wasn’t it a rule, that all little kids were cute?
“But it’s fun.” Marui teased, snorting with laughter at the expression on Akaya’s face. “Of course, of course~”
“What?” The younger boy frowned, confused and a little annoyed. Why was Marui laughing at him? He wiped his face, hoping nothing was on it. “And that’s that supposed to mean?”
“Nothing at all~” Marui grinned. “You’re just amusing, ‘s all.”
Shaking his head, not understanding weird sempai at all, Akaya looked back at the ride they were about to get on. The line had been fairly short and they were up in the next batch of people.
Marui was fine with Akaya not getting everything, besides, he knew he didn’t really make much sense at times. He grinned, shifting from one foot to another as they waited, before pulling him with him as it was their turn to get on the ride. “On we go~”
“You sure you don’t want to be on the inside?” Akaya’d been on this ride many times before and with how fast it went, it tended to push the inside person up against the one on the outside. Not that it really made a difference with the two of them but still...
The redhead laughed. “Afraid you’ll squish me?” he teased. “But sure.”
Akaya rolled his eyes. “We’re, like, the same.” He grinned though adding, “just making sure,” before jumping into the car first and scooting over to give Marui enough room to sit in it too.
Marui had a grin of his own on his face as he sat down next to Akaya, bouncing just slightly where he sat from the anticipation of the ride that was soon going to start.
On the other side, as far as he could get from the redhead (which wasn’t saying much because they were definitely within arms reach of each other), Akaya grinned as the music started playing and the ride started. Holding onto the side so he didn’t immediately start sliding towards his redhead, Akaya looked over for a moment.
Marui almost missed the glance Akaya gave him, sitting in his seat and looking around, before looking over to Akaya and noticing. He flashed a big happy grin at his boyfriend. It only widened as the ride started to move.
Letting go of the side, Akaya slid over thanks to the force of the ride. “This ride thinks we need to be closer,” he said as softly as he could and still be heard by the redhead.
“So I wasn’t the only one thinking that.” Marui laughed, giving Akaya a peck. Due to the speed he couldn’t control exactly where the light kiss landed, it ended up on his nose. He let out another laugh.
Akaya laughed too, letting his head rest on the redhead’s shoulder. “You just want me,” he grinned mischievously, “don’t you, Bunta-sempai?” Not that Akaya necessarily minded or anything.
Marui blushed. “You saying you don’t want me, then?” His face went scarlet at his own words. ..The things I say when I’m with Akaya..
“Now you’re just putting words in my mouth,” the younger shook his head. He yawned and was suddenly glad that no one could see the sheepish look on his face.
Marui nudged Akaya’s head that was still resting on his shoulder. “You’re tired? On a ride like this? Akaya, you amaze me.”
“Hey, I won’t fall asleep,” he protested. Now, when he got back to his apartment...yeah, a nap sounded quite nice.
“Good. I might smack you to wake you up.” He wasn’t exactly serious about smacking him though. Okay, maybe half, but you could still hear the teasing edge to his voice as he said that. He could sleep all he wanted after the date.
Not that smacking Akaya would wake the kid up when he fell asleep. The younger yawned again, keeping his head down so his boyfriend wouldn’t see the silly grin on his face. Only things that could wake a sleeping Akaya with any certainty: a screaming Sanada or a ‘Mura-buchou wanting answers. Other than that, the kid could sleep as long as he wanted. Sometimes longer. Probably the reason he wasn’t allowed to travel long distances by himself anymore.
Marui let out a sigh but laughed just a moment later, reaching up to ruffle the younger’s hair. “Just don’t fall asleep yet.” He knew that the boy was hard to wake up, there had been tennis camps after all, and he really didn’t feel like troubling himself by calling Sanada to yell him awake.
“I won’t, I won’t,” Akaya grumbled, reaching an arm around to kind of awkwardly hug the older boy as they slowed to start the going backwards portion of the ride. “Though you’re comfy...”
Marui returned the hug as best as he could with the way they were sitting. He flicked the younger’s forehead as Akaya finished that last sentence though. “Sleep later. At least finish this ride first."
“I know that,” Akaya rolled his eyes. Now, when he got home...”You want to do anything else?”
“Hmm..” Marui thought it over for a while. “Eat something?”
Sounded good to him. “You pick.” Seemed fair. After all, it’d been Akaya’s choice to go to the amusement park. Marui should get to pick where they ate.
Once they got off the ride, Marui looked around, searching for something they could eat.. Spotting something of interest, he pulled Akaya over to it. “This!”
“Yank my arm off,” Akaya muttered under his breath. He looked up at the place. “This?”
“Your arm’s still on as far as I can tell.” Marui tugged experimentally at the younger’s arm. Nope, didn’t come off at all. “Yeah!” It really was no surprise that he’d choose something where they had a lot of sweet things. Among other things.
“You heard that?” Akaya looked at his boyfriend, surprise written all over his face. Okay...check off super hearing for Marui. That was, apparently, a skill the guy had. “Sempai’s treat?”
“Ain’t I just awesome?” Marui grinned and winked at Akaya. “Okay.” He supposed he could. Akaya did treat both him and Hazue a while back.
Akaya’s face broke out into a huge grin as he cheered. “Bunta’s the best.” So very much the best.
“Of course I am.” the redhead claimed. “So what do you want?”
Thinking about it for a moment, the younger turned and replied, “surprise me.” It’d be interesting to see what kind of thing Marui would pick for him. “I’m going to go sit over there,” he pointed to a table, “and wait.” Akaya started walking away.
Marui hummed and turned to all the goodness. He had to stop himself from just standing and drooling, instead looking for something to choose for them both. He grinned. That would be great! The redhead didn’t take long to make his choice and bound over to the table where Akaya was sitting.
“You look incredibly excited,” Akaya noted as his boyfriend sat down. “Find something you like?”
Nodding, Marui handed one over to Akaya. It was cake, but it was in weird colours and looked funny. “Here~”
“Is this neon green?” He poked it with the fork. Something this bright...was it really edible?
“It is.” Marui nodded. He had told him to surprise him after all. “Don’t they look awesome?” Neon green, pink, blue, purple and other bright colours. There wasn’t a single part of the cakes that looked normal. He took a bite of his own cake. “Delicious~!”
Akaya poked it again before taking a bite. “Strawberry.” Surprise filled his voice. Neon green equaled strawberry. Made no sense but okay. It was good though.
It was fun to eat this, since you had no idea what you were getting by judging by the colours. Marui took another bite of the cake. He laughed. “The green in my cake tastes like lemon.”
“The pink’s watermelon.” At least that one was somewhat normal and believable. Akaya poked the blue portion, not wanting to try it for some reason.
Marui snorted with laughter at Akaya’s suspicion to taste the blue. Grinning, he shoved his fork into it and raising a bit of it in front of Akaya’s mouth. “C’mon. It’s not like it’s poisonous. Or do you want me to pretend it’s an airplane?” he teased.
“Apple,” Akaya took a bite of it. He wrinkled his nose. “You can have it,” he told the older boy.
The redhead laughed again. “Don’t like apple, Akaya?” Marui bent down to take a bite of the blue portion of Akaya’s cake directly from the plate. After a while, having chewed and swallowed, he spoke again. “Hey, it tastes great~”
“Take it all.” Apple--definitely not his favorite flavor. He tried the yellow. “Raspberry.” Better. Much better.
Marui didn’t mind at all. The more cake the better, in his opinion. “Mmm, maybe I should try make some confusing-coloured cakes..” he thought aloud as he took some more of his own cake. His purple tasted like kiwi, he noticed.
A blank stare. That was what Akaya gave the redhead. “Why?”
“To freak people out.” He was half joking, half serious. No, but seeing people’s expressions at such poisonous looking cakes would be entertaining. “It’d be fun. Imagine if I gave one to Sanada.”
He thought about it for a moment. “Okay, that would be funny.” Akaya bit into the watermelon portion again, deciding to stick with the good flavors.
Marui nodded, grinning. He was already forming a small plan to get Sanada to actually eat it. Of course it involved Yukimura. He took another bite of Akaya’s apple flavoured portion.
“Anything else good in yours?” Akaya asked, pointing to the redhead’s own cake. “And get pictures. We should have pictures of Sanada’s face.”
Marui dug his fork into his portion of cyan. “Mmyesh.” he answered after a moment. “Hey, this’s chocolate.” There had only been fruits and berries until now, so he hadn’t thought there would be chocolate as well. “And of course we gotta have pictures of it.”
It wasn’t much longer before Akaya pushed his cake away, done. He gave a little yawn, hiding it with his hand.
Finishing his own cake not too long after, Marui put down his fork, looking to Akaya. Grinning, he pinched his nose lightly. “If you’re that tired, we can call it a day here and go back and sleep.”
“I’m not tired,” Akaya grumbled, reaching across the table to poke the redhead. He pulled out his phone and looked at the time. “But it is getting late...”
“Ah.” Marui hadn’t noticed at all. “You’re right.”
“Wanna head back or ride another ride or two before we leave?” Akaya asked, still messing with his phone, frowning. Stupid older sisters. He deleted the message from her and looked up.
“Well, since the little boy seems tired, I might as well tuck him into bed.” the redhead couldn’t help but tease him. He glanced at Akaya’s hand that held his phone. “Something wrong?”
Akaya glared for a moment. “If I’m a little boy, what’s that make you?” He shoved the phone into his pocket. “Nothing. Just people being stupid.”
Marui reached out and ruffled the younger boy’s hair. “I was your pet, wasn’t I? And I’m one skilled pet, that can even tuck you in.” He blinked at the last sentence. “That means it can be just about anyone. But just ignore it.”
“Someone whose trying to annoy me,” Akaya tried explaining. “And I’m not a little kid who needs to be tucked in.”
“So ignore it.” the redhead repeated. his lips formed into a pout, and a mock hurt expression made its way onto his face. “Not even by me?”
“I am.” Akaya gave a soft growl. He stood and grabbed what was left of his cake. “And I’d rather you do other things than tuck me in.” He walked over to the trash can, leaving Marui behind.
“Are you angry?” Marui followed his boyfriend, jogging until he was walking just slightly behind him, worried. He took his hand, letting out another question, this one concerning Akaya’s second sentence. “Like what?”
“Just my sister being stupid.” He shook his head, annoyed as some of the curls fell in his eyes yet again. Definitely needed a haircut. Akaya looked over at his redhead and gave a little mischievous grin. “Have to wait and see.”
“Ah.” Well, he didn’t have any sisters, so he couldn’t say anything about that. “Hey, tell me.”
Akaya’s grin grew. “Maybe when we get back home,” he told the other boy.
“Eeh, why can’t you tell me now?” Marui made an exaggerated pout, puffing up his cheeks. “Please?”
“Someone’s being impatient,” Akaya laughed as they walked towards the exit of the amusement park. “And nope, you gotta wait.”
“But but but~ I want to know~!” He poked his boyfriend’s cheek. “Promise you’ll tell me when we get back then?”
Akaya acted like he was thinking about it for a few minutes. “Maybe,” he decided.
Marui just poked him again. “Come on~. Promise~”
“Now what’s the fun in that?” Akaya reached over, ruffling the hair on the redhead. “You’ll just have to wait until we get back.”
