Who: Ibu Shinji & Marui Bunta
Rating: G
When: Sometime after the visit at the petstore? I dunno
Where: The studio in the SevenLines apartment-building.
Summary: Shinji goes to play in a studio and don't look if anyone's in where he goes, and meet Bunta there.
“And Tachibana-san shouldn’t let Ishida practice the Hadokyuu that much, it’ll only be bad for him in the long run. Then again, I’m not the one who decides and it was Ishida who asked to practice it anyway. Then again--” Shinji walked down the corridor and opened a door to a random studio. He blinked as he spotted something red and noticed it was Marui. “Ah. Sorry, I didn’t know anyone was here. Then again, I didn’t really look. They should’ve made better signs to show which rooms are in use, anyway.”
Marui blinked at him from where he had been sitting with his guitar in his lap. “Oh. Hey. No, it’s okay.” He hadn’t really talked much to Shinji, besides online and on Kakinoki that one night. “You can come in if you want. I’m not doing much, anyway.” Well, he had been working on a song, but it wasn’t like this one had a deadline. Yet.
“Ah, right. If you say it’s alright, then.” Shinji made his way over to Marui and sat down on a stool. “Though there are some people who say things like that and really do mind, even when they do. But I don’t think Bunta-san is that sort of person . Then again, I don’t know him that well, so I could be wrong. I don’ think I am, but still.”
Marui let out a laugh. “No, I’m not just saying it. If I didn’t think it was okay, I’d just tell you to leave.” He thought for a little while. “I’m working on a new song, would you like to hear what I’ve done this far? Some opinions would be good after all.”
“That’s nice. Why not. If you don’t mind that is.”
Marui blinked a bit. The shortest thing he’d ever heard the other boy say in one go. Then he grinned. “Not at all. I brought it up, right?”
He plucked with the papers in front of him, setting them out. “So.. I’m far from done, especially on the music part.” He nudged at the papers, the first with the name written out in big letters. My Life it said.
Shinji listened as Marui played what he had, then hummed. “I think it sounds good. Though maybe you could change this line in the chords,” he pointed at a line. “and think a bit more at the phrasing of that sentence. It feels like it’s be awkward to sing.” he pointed at one of the sentences.
“Mm, maybe like this?” He started again from a little before the part Shinji had mentioned, changing the chords a bit. It was good that he had chosen to take the acoustic guitar with him to the studio today, it felt like it would fit better, and he had been right. It was definitely a song suited for acoustic.
Shinji nodded, that sounded better.
Marui grinned, playing a few chords at random, as he thought about the words to the song. “How ‘bout.. this?” He had been sitting with his eyes closed, just picturing the sound of the words in his head. Now, he started to play on the song again, singing the words to go to it.
He listened again, nodding as the part he had changed did sound better. Or maybe not, he wasn’t completely sure. It was nice, anyway.
Marui noticed the small reaction from the younger boy, so he continued to play through the song a few times, a little more of it falling to place for every time he played.
Shinji felt his fingers itch slightly. He wanted to play too. But he politely listened as Marui played the song over and over. It wasn’t a bad song, it was just, well, it could get a bit tiring to listen to the same piece over and over again.
Marui blinked. “You can tell me to stop, you know. I can finish it later.”
Shinji looked away. “So he noticed.” he muttered. “It can get tiring and sometimes really annoying to listen to the same parts over and over. Specially when one want to play, too.”
The redhead laughed at that. “Got it. You want me to leave? I’m mostly done for now anyway. Or you got anything I can listen to?” He couldn’t guarantee that he would be of any help if he had, though.
Shrugging, Shinji picked up his guitar-case. “Do whatever you wish. I don’t really care. I just came up to play randomly, really. I could always leave and go to another room.”
Marui stood up, grinning as he did, picking up his papers. “Nah. I’m getting hungry anyway.” He went for the door, turned and waved at the younger boy. “Have fun~”
Shinji blinked and shrugged to himself. Huh.. Whatever...
