Brief hello from Gisborne

We're sitting in the local i-site (tourist info) for my ex coworker to kindly come pick us up and take us back to his farm. We're sleeping in a converted schoolbus - quite adventurous, LOL, but no more so than sleeping in an alp hut, and we have a fireplace to keep us warm. Weather is rainy though we were lucky for most of the day. We may not be able to update before Monday or Tuesday, when we'll be in Taupo.
