Ooh. Don't think I've ever read this part of retribution explored in a fic before. I like the defiant Arcghie of the last paragraph, too!

Love love love this! And no, as mylodon says, I've never seen this part of Retribution ficced either. Kudos to you for slipping in such an interesting scene!

Favourite Archie bit (ahem!): “We've removed one captain already,” Archie said, not bothering to look over his shoulder or moderate his tone. “It couldn't be so very hard to do it again.”

That is so dangerously reckless and so savagely Archie at this point of the story that it makes me tingle with recognition. :)

Sorry about the html mess-up.

Just wanted to add that the beginning is brilliant - it really grabbed my attention:

Horatio vanished into the fort, every step precise and clipped and furious if one knew how to look, which Archie suspected that no one but he himself cared to do. It wasn't done to stare at the walking dead. Excessively morbid. A bit ghoulish.

Wow, that certainly made me sit up straighter in my seat and read on very carefully indeed!
