I'm now working at a flower shop one mile from my home; I walk there and back each day I work. In just two weeks I have gone from working two days a week and being one of 3 workers(in addition to the boss and delivery driver) to working 5 days and being the only worker, due to one getting fired and the other getting another job that didn't work with this one, so she is only working every now and then. This is good for my bank account, and bad for my sleep and husband time.

The ratlets have settled in nicely and are starting to do some free ranging on the couches when I am in here reading or computing. They willingly climb onto and ride around on our shoulders, are thinking about using the litterbox(only thinking) and are just starting to come to their names. Growing, too. I made them a cuddle sack/bonding pouch(pouch of fleece I can wear around my neck) and they hang out around the house with me, and occasionally come outside to go change over the laundry or hang out on the porch table while I draw.

Just finished building two pairs of custom fairy wings for a couple in Banner Elk. Pics soon, maybe. I really like them, hope they do, since I was given lots of creative freedom for "The King and Queen of Halloween." Suffice it to say there is lots of glitter loose in the apartment and david is trying not to breathe in too much.

We got some rain from Ike, but no real flooding in our area, there was some water in the streets, and one of the other campus apartments lost their hot water heater pilot lights due to basement water, but we're ok.

I just joined the Cantorei, which is the choir at Augustana, the Lutheran church we have been attending since we got here. I am singing tenor due to... need. Dan, our director(and organist) apologizes several times a rehearsal for referring to the bases and tenors as men, because I am in that group. It's funny.

David is crazy busy with classes and trying to learn Greek, and being a sweetheart and doing most of the cooking now, since I am working til 6 most nights. We are still having campfires several nights a week, though. He's such a pyro. =)

I think that's about it for now. Bedtime. Definitely bedtime, cause work comes again tomorrow.
