I'm on my 6th or 7th brand of pill at this point. I've had just about every side effect listed (except maybe hair loss, but when it comes down to it, hair loss on me probably wouldn't be noticeable). My doctor switches me every time I complain. I've had mood swings, depression, nausea, constant bleeding, and a low sex drive. The most important thing with birth control is that you need to find one that's right and that will probably take a few tries. If you've got any time in JC, you might try checking out Dr. Bertotti at First Choice Health Care. She's absolutely great and will actually spend time listening to you
( ... )
Now if only I could get Dr. suggestions from someone who didn't have the same general practitioner as me...
I've been seeing Dr. Bertotti since I was 7 or 8, and love her dearly, and wrote to her from summer camp cause she asked me to when she did my physicals so I could go to said camp, but mom and I are both of the opinion that she is finally just getting old. No offense, but she IS the doctor that wouldn't listen. =(
(as in, the old one was doing great for me until my recent problem...anyway...odd that she's the one giving you problems, Aongel. Hmmm...she might be "losing it" indeed :-()
Perhaps you could meet with one of the nurse technicians instead of with Bertotti. I had an appointment with Sara Mullins once and she was very nice, though I don't know how easy it is to change within the same practice.
My mother knits with a woman named Stephanie Manganelli who is a doctor. She doesn't remember what office she works at, but the phone number is 282-8070 if you want to contact her. My mom's friend Connie, who was a nurse for a long time and is now pursuing a MD, really likes this woman as well.
