Wooo! 2 chapters in one day? I have the story sitting on my hard drive, ready to be uploaded. Doesn't make much sense to wait any longer, I guess. So the last two chapters will be released tomorrow (and maybe the day after? Although that wouldn't make much sense). Anyway, here we go.
"You were serious about it?"
"Yes, I were. Will you keep your word?"
"Yes."
"How much does he want from you?"
"25.000 Simoleons."
"Do you have this much?"
Gregory shook his head: "I can scrape together 10.000$. Maximum."
"And now you want my money?"
"I want to borrow it. You'll get it back. With interest."
"I want to know exactly what your plan is!"
"Ms. Livorno?"
Stella stopped and turned around. Morgana stood in front of her, looking puzzled.
"What are you doing in my fiancées house?"
"I'm painting his portrait."
Morgana looked at her depreciatory: "As long as this is the only thing you've been doing in his house."
Stellas heart started to race: "Excuse me?"
"Well, you seem to have quite a reputation."
Stella didn't know if she should be happy that Morgana was unsuspecting or if she should be furious about the expostulations she was making.
"What are you trying to tell me, Miss Goth?"
"I'm not trying to tell you anything. I merely noticed that you seem to be involved in almost every scandal this quiet town has ever seen."
"That's none of your business!"
"It might be, if another scandal could involve my fiancée!"
"Oh, don't you worry, I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole."
"You're not that finicky usually."
Stella had to fight the urge to attack her. Instead, she laughed: "You're so pathetic. If you'd be the saint you're pretending to be you wouldn't ogle Gregory Landgraab!"
Morgana clenched her fists in anger, her usually calm and soft voice filled with rage: "That's not true!"
"Sure. Tell me you're not toying with him."
"I'm- I'm not."
It was visibly hard for Morgana to hold countenance.
And then, suddenly, she smiled: "You're calling me pathetic. You and your... let's call it enthusiasm for him is what is really pathetic. A man more than ten years your junior. I would call you pathetic if it weren't so sad."
Furious, Stella launched at Morgana. The young woman had to jump out of her way to avoid being tackled by her. Stella tripped and fell to the ground.
Picking herself up, she heard the melodious voice of her opponent talking to her calmly: "Please get yourself together, Ms. Livorno. You're embarrassing both of us."
"And you're absolutely clueless."
"Pardon?"
"Gregory is not as innocent as you might think." She turned around.
Morgana stood on the sidewalk, pale. "What do you mean?"
"Ask him."
And with that, Stella left.
