Tasting: Owen Roe 2007 Red Wine

I was afraid to taste this wine because it was a gift from a Live Journal friend.

Nevertheless:

Pop-and-pour, Thursday afternoon, 17-Dec-2009

Appearance:  Deep garnet red, edges are translucent but I cannot see through the  1/3 full glass.  When swirled, the wine clings to the glass, then runs down in extended beads.

Oh, hooray! I'm glad you got your gift!

Did you get to spend some time and let it evolve?? The oak moves away, and I'm surprised you perceived so much, as there isn't actually that much and it's all french oak which is where the subtle vanilla and cedar box notes come from! I hop eyou enjoyed it! Happy holidays!!
