Seriously, 2016, WTF???

And now Debbie Reynolds is dead from a stroke, the day after her daughter died. :-(

You know, it's not like 2016 was a wretched year for me. Stressful, yes, with renovating the house, moving, adjusting, helping kids adjust, pre-cancerous mole-removal surgery, the ending of CA:CW, and various celebrity deaths (plus, I confess to being sad that Brangelina didn't work out), but there were also belt promotions, my friend's wedding, birthdays to celebrate, trips to the pool, good books, good fic, good movies, earning some money subbing - so it's not like it was ALL bad. But still - 2016 seems to be determined to go out with a very loud, very negative bang.

[Oh, and today I dropped a ceramic tile (roughly 6x12"/12x25cm, maybe?) with penguins on it, which we had bought for Two at the Edinburgh Zoo last year. Had taken it to the craft store to look at frames for it - Two insisted on a frame, even though it had hanging loops on the back already - and I lost my grip; it fell face down on the floor, cracking the tile in several places. It's repairable, but I felt awful.]

Sigh.

On a separate note, I took Two and my youngest niece, M2, to see the Sing! movie today. It was cute - nice transformational journeys for all the lead characters, really. Neither the best nor the worst movie out there, but a pleasant diversion and an uplifting ending, with lots of fun music along the way.

But, seriously, folks, I need a hug. Not just because of celebrity deaths, but just ... worn down by life at the moment. I don't have particular illusions that 2017 will magically be better, but ... I'll try.
