Hopefully everyone out there in reader land is doing okay, despite the shitty weather across Canada for the last week. This -25 crap sucks. But I have nothing else really to complain about. Of course, and as usual, I have busier then any average human should be, but hey, thats life, and it will slow down sooner or later....maybe when I have a newborn in my arms so everyone will come to see me! Anyways, work has been fantastic this week. I dropped in my first windshield on Thursday morning, and fixed my first remote starter that afternoon. Aside from the good one that my boss pulled on me Friday, I think I am doing great! I was finishing up the end of day procedures about 4:30 Friday, and he looks at me with a completely serious face and says, "thats the most week I have seen you do all day." I was shocked. I could not say anything. The operations manager was behind me making a comment about where was my usual smart assed remark?? Then the boss says again, "yeah, its the most work I have seen you do all day, since my head has been under a dash for most of it." The look on my face must have been funny, and upset, I was sure he was serious! Anyways, we had a good laugh about that...at least they did...
Thursday night was crazy with 2 board meetings, a band practice, a friends daughters birthday and a phonecall into my sister. I didn't think I was going to be able to get it all done between 6pm-9:30pm but I did! I felt like superwoman! That was probably the most hectic night out of them all...
Friday night I went to a co workers place for a beer and I ended up being surrounded by some of the best drummers, guitarist and bassists I have ever had the opportunity to meet. They have requested that I join them again and to bring my trumpet for jamming. One of the guys I had met before, and not under great circumstances. It was pretty embarrassing for me, but I think we have made good. Although I do not remember the situation quite they way he said, I guess I was bitchy at him when I was running the towing company and he was coming to shut down the water, with absolutely no warning. I remember being grumpy about it, and maybe a short with my comments, but, last thing I need to do is admit that my hubby is right....SOMETIMES...and my tone gets the best of me, whether I am joking or not. Anyway, he is a gum junkie and had none, I had a few pieces in the car so I gave them to him and we reconciled. A great reminder that sometimes your attitude will come back and bite you in the ass.
I taught another 5hrs of dancing yesterday, since my teacher ended up on bedrest for a few days with complications from her pregnancy. They Christmas concert is next Sunday, so I really wanted to be able to work with them more, so I skipped out on my band practice for my concert today, and well, aside from having fun, the money is awesome just before Christmas...plus my legs do not feel as bad as they did last week from dancing, so maybe I just did something wrong.
Finally, as you read above, I have a concert the play at with the Equinox singers at 3. There are 2 flutes and 2 trumpets in one song they are singing, and so I volunteered to join in. It should be a good time, my mom and mom in law will be there, and although I don't think my hubby really cares for doing this kinda stuff, he's going to be there to support me (what a great guy.) There will be cider and dainties, so that is always rewarding for me. LOL...After the concert we are heading to my hubbys parents house for dinner and maybe a movie with another couple afterwards. And after all that rambling, I am done, and I better go since I have to be at the concert for 2 to run through the song again. I think I am going to take myself out for breakfast/lunch beforehand. Off I go!!
