I feel pretty damn good right now

For the last couple of weeks, the garbage bin owned by the company that neighbours us has been disgusting. I realize that there has been a problem with citizens dumping their garbage in these bins when they don't want to use our dump (it costs $5 to go to our dump) but still, it really made this area look gross. Of course, it looks like its our bin, so we are the ones looking bad and it doesn't help that the ravens have spread the garbage into our yard. Monday when I came to work I put my foot out of the car and slipped on a chubby chicken box. Ew. Today I came to work, and saw a rim on the ground, not even an attempt to put it in the bin, and it was obviously theirs. So I took it upon myself to go to our neighbours and point out the mess that they are making to a manager. She was shocked at the filth and because she neither parks on that side or smokes, she didn't know it was happening. So, she promised to get it cleaned up, and in return, I decided to not leave it up to the employees there to clean up my side of the yard, but to pitch in and show some initiative. After 1.5hrs of raking, I cleaned up the outside of our yard. It felt great. Now, the neighbours haven't cleaned up yet, but I am sure that they will, or I will press the topic again, to the big boss this time. I am so sick of looking at all the garbage in this town, so sick of cleaning up others garbage when they choose to drop it on my lawn, and I have just about had it. Its fucken disgusting! I promise to myself, that when the hubby and I choose to leave this dirty place, that I will go to each city that we are looking at in the spring and see how much garbage there is laying around. I will not live in a town where filth on the streets (including our large amount of drunks and transients) are allowed. I know that these things are everywhere, and that there is a lot more problems in a large city, but at least there are places that do not allow this to be the norm. I was talking to a friend that used to live in a moderately sized city in Saskatchewan, and she informed me that although there is a lot in common with this city and the people that live here, litter and drunks are not tolerated. As soon as a drunk sits down they are removed. If this is really the fact, thats the kind of place I want to live. My patience for this city is really wearing very thin. I can't wait to leave, and the only things that are keeping me here are family, and our jobs.
Over and Out
