Hullo from Winnipeg

Sooooooooooooooo..we finally made it yesterday...*sigh* The stress goes on. We left late for one, but the hubby didn't sleep well..(again) and then about 50km south of Grand Rapids, the van broke down...*hangs head* Damn....I pulled out to pass someone and all the hubby saw was a bunch of white smoke and when I shoulder checked to go in, I saw it too...started to pullover and there was this awful noise and I came to a stop (on my own steam, the vehicle didn't die out.) A couple of nice guys stopped to check it out, and they figure it was the water pump. The van was overheating. So, we decided to drive the km's to Devils Lake and call my sis and tell her, instead of driving back to Grand Rapids. (Remember, no cell service in the boonies) We get to Devils Lake, and the hubby still isn't sure there is a phone there. I pointed out the phone sign, and when we pulled up, we discovered that the fricken phone had been stolen!!!!!! Not funny. So between tears and laughter, we snapped a couple of pics with me and the missing phone, and decided that we would head on to Ashern rather then head back to call. Anyways, to make a long story a little shorter, My sis got CAA to tow the van back to Ponton, and then my boss sent the truck out today and pick it up and tow it back to the shop. I hope its nothing major. *sigh* Back onto the hubby for a sec though...I am considering beating him till he passes out if he doesn't start sleeping well at nite. Its the only thing that I can think of to help him! *lol* So thats the start of the trip. Everything else has been pretty smooth, had a great supper last nite at the Olive Garden, watched 2 great people get married in a beautiful ceremony...ate GREAT food, was drinking wine before 11:30am.....so, yeah, its been good since then. I am at my sisters place tonite, one of the few places aside from my house that I feel quite comfortable in. I am truly looking forward to Tuesday and getting to Lethbrige to see my girl. It feels like ages since we have been together, and I know as soon as I get there, I will park the car and start running to hug her...I may not let her go for quite some time. So yeah, I am exhausted, I have to be up at 6am so I can take a new friend to the airport, so I am gonna head out. Hopefully I can continue to update every couple of days.
