Got nothing better to do at the moment so I figured I’d update this. Hurricane Sandy hit us on Oct. 29, 2012.
At first it wasn’t too bad for my area, however we started getting strong wind gusts around 7 p.m. which resulted in our power flicking quite a bit. However, by 9 pm. We had trees falling in the night that took out our own power as well as that of our neighbors. We spent the night taking shifts - since without power my house has the chance of flooding as well. At most we might have gotten four to five hours of sleep during the night - we also had to use flashlights and candles to get around the house.
At my house alone in the morning we had five pine trees down all just short enough to not reach the house to cause any damage - the ones that were bigger somehow managed to fall off to the sides (thank god).
We are still without power, the power people are telling us it could be days, but they won’t give an exact number. So far it’s day two.
Natalie and I walked around the village to take in the damages the day after Sandy hit, but my house totally has the most impressive. Then today, my mom called because the local paper,
The Public Opinion, came out to take pictures of it.
Right now, I’m staying over at my sister’s house, where they didn’t get hit with the storm at all. It’s a nice break, but I always feel uncomfortable when I’m not at home home, you know. The only good thing about not having anything to do is, I got to work on some rp posts that needed to be done - but at the same time I’m also postponing my next walkthrough video of ANB till I get over this terrible cold, which I’ve had for 3 days now, and hopefully when I’m well enough to pick it up again my hosue will once again have power. HERE’S HOPING!!!!
