You pretty much hit on every point that bothered me about this episode.

Rachel, you've been doing Funny Girl for like... a month, in universe. A week for us. THAT IS NOT THAT LONG. At least wait until your run is over before you start exploring new options. Don't screw yourself over by being overly ambitious. And she learned literally nothing. Like, it's great that the guy laid down the law and said "this is what we'll do if you mess up again" but... does Rachel even care? Not really.

Blaine lying to Kurt was painful for me to watch because Kurt was just so excited and happy and wonderful to him, and I feel like it's all going to blow up in their faces and I don't want to see it.

This entire episode should have been called "Adults Making Very Good Points and Teenagers Ignoring Them" because that's all that happened. This is exactly how I felt about Mercedes' storyline. Sure, it's nice that you want to do something nice for your friend, but please take a minute to listen to someone who knows what he's talking about. (Oh and it was ( ... )

Yeah, Rachel's part was pretty awful, and it would have been nice for her to face some real consequences for once instead of having something new land in her lap immediately.

I'm sure at some point the lie is going to be exposed and I hope that everything turns out okay, but I guess even in a drama-free Klaine episode they need to set up some drama in the future :/

You picked a perfect title for this ep. I do not get Rachel's attitude at all- all we've heard for the past five years is how much she dreams of Broadway, and now she wants to walk away from it after one month?

Also, whoever is dressing Chris Colfer, I beg you, stop putting him in those neckerchiefs. He looks a closeted (but not really) guest star on a 70s game show.

And not only about Broadway, but she's been dreaming about this role since she was a little girl, and then a month into it she's suddenly fine with doing a TV show? Yeah, it makes no sense.

I've noticed he's been wearing more of those lately and I'm not sure why, but I agree they need to go.

My palms literally itched at one point last night because I wanted so much to slap some sense into Rachel. I wish she weren't being constantly rewarded for being a lousy human being.

The Mercedes-Santana thing I liked, but agree that Mercedes needs to establish herself first.

As I said to the person I was IMing with last night, Shirley MacLaine's been singing that song as part of her shows since the 1970s. While she was primarily a dancer, MacLaine did start out in musicals (Hitchcock discovered her while she was understudying "Pajama Game" -- he'd come to see Carol Haney who'd broken her ankle and ended up seeing MacLaine instead), and has sung on cast albums and in her own shows in Vegas and New York.

That's how I feel about Rachel at this point; there are times when she's likable enough but she literally does not have to work for anything and, especially seeing what some of the other characters go through, it makes it hard to root for her because of it.

Ah, okay, I don't know anything about Shirley MacLaine so I was just going by the tumblr consensus that she wasn't a singer, but that makes more sense why they chose that particular song although I still don't think it suited her and Darren, especially singing together.

I liked Santana in this episode. I rarely like her. But she wasn't a harpy and she decided to use her evil ways to help her friends. Can't say I'll miss her if she never comes back, though.

I just wish they could have given Blaine a boost without taking Kurt down to do it.

I find it strange that they made Santana so likable when it was pretty much her swan song, especially because they obviously couldn't have known that in advance.

Yeah, the whole 'contest' between Blaine and Kurt is getting a little tiresome, especially since Kurt himself said that it shoudn't be a contest between them, but I guess the storyline is supposed to be that even if they believe that, 'the world' is always going to have a preference.

What fight thing between Lea and Naya? Naya was fired? Huh?

Naya's made a few...really passive-aggressive tweets and comments about Lea lately, and then a couple of weeks ago she was fired and written out of at least the last episode, and I think Chris had to re-write parts of his which is why they're still filming it when it airs in less than a week.

So yeah, her team has said she's 'taking a break', but the reputable media sites have said that she was fired, although I don't think it's been said yet exactly why that happened but it seems like it's been building for a while...
