City-Related

So, as some of you may or may not know, I live in Calgary. Which, over the past week, was hit with the worst natural disaster in the history of the city that resulted in 100,000 people having to be evacuated from their homes, the entire downtown core losing power (some of which might take months to get up and running again), almost $4 billion in flood damage, and a lot of buildings and homes might have to be written off completely.

Luckily, I live on a hill, so while not personally affected by this disaster it's hard to see the city in this state and a lot of the places I used to go to will probably never look the same even though the water's slowly pulling back. However, I have to commend the city and the crews working for handling the situation with optimism and a healthy dose of sass and snarkiness because it's infinitely better than having a bleak outlook.

And also John Barrowman made a video sending his support to the city, which may or may not have made me freak out a little because it's so nice of him to do and he didn't have to say anything, really.
