When I was in 6th grade I spent a year in Alabama. At the time my mother hated the high humidity levels, but I didn't really mind it. In fact I rather enjoyed it.
After a month of military training 10 years later, I'm now inclined to agree with her.
So I survived Maxwell I. I came out in the bottom 3rd of my flight, but I made it through, and I learned a lot while I was there. I had an awesome FTO, Captain Boyd from Colorado State, and great CTAs as well. As everyone else tends to say, it's the most awesome experience you never want to go through again.
I improved my physical fitness greatly while I was there, it'll be a lot of work to maintain that fitness level, also, I never thought it was possible that I would be able to get so many things done in a single day. The course really taught me a lot about having time management and making quick, decisive decisions., as awkward as the term sounds.
Since that's where I was for the last full month I don't have that much to talk about. Missed the NBA finals (didn't bother me), the Stanley Cup (kinda bothered me), the College World Series (bothered me again), and most of the World Cup (never even got to see USA play, bleh). But oh well, how it goes.
I do get a bit of respite, though. I have a few events to take care of in regards to summer recruiting at Mines, but other than that the rest of my summer is pretty much open. Still haven't decided what all I'm gonna do. When I do figure it out and actually do it I'll mention it. ^^
