Notes: Here's my account of
Day 1.
I also did this day as an
adayinmylife project. It's too late to post to the community now, but I'm keeping it here. [Holla to my friend
Cielo! See, you were in an A Day in my Life Project!]
Warning - photo overload!
When we woke up we had to update ourselves on the situation, so CNN was on the TV.
Then we started getting ready for the beach! We got our SPF on - sunblock and lip balm.
Ready!
The group awaits!
Yay!
And we're off to breakfast.
Good morning, paradise!
Random pic of the peeps, trying to decide where to eat.
Me at breakfast
We ended up at Jammers. We had a big group, and it was tough making decisions. Next trip, we're making a full itinerary haha.
The view from our table on the beach.
Waiting for our food...
A little bird paid us a visit while we were waiting for our food.
Breakfast banter
Lemonade and iced tea shots
My baconsilog (bacon, sinangag, itlog) - bacon, fried rice, egg.
A taho vendor walked by.
Cielo loves taho, and had to get a cup.
Ken's tosilog - tocino "steak", fried rice, egg.
Everyone else ordered tapsilog - tapa, fried rice, egg.
Another taho vendor passed, and by that time I was needing something sweet for dessert.
I bought a cup!
Yay, taho.
Then it was shopping time at D'Mall.
Cielo and I went sarong shopping!
I chose a stormy, blue-gray one.
Then we shopped for souvenirs. I got sand art keychains for Aleq and my housemate Sheva.
We found the group at Ice Monster.
More shopping. Cielo, Verns and I ended up buying matching earrings.
When we got back, Cielo was confused by the sign at the guesthouse. It said "Foot Wash! For Taj Guesthouse only. Please. Use deeper to wash your foot. Thank you." Cielo: "So dapat ipasok ko ang foot ko deeper?" Hahaha. They meant "dipper"!
Quick rest, then we decided to go island hopping.
Ready.
Set.
Go.
Pictures before heading out!
Island-hopping here we come! But first, more pics.
Boarding the bangka!
On the boat!
That man was paddling on a surfboard selling coconuts.
Anchor down. Snorkeling break!
The gang went in!
Patawa 'tong pic na 'to!
Cielo stayed onboard. It was red day.
Luis also didn't join us, because he wasn't a water person or something.
I hate snorkeling haha.
We docked at an island soon after to swim and hang out for a while.

Famished after swimming, some of us went ahead to shower, some of us stopped by this little restaurant near the guesthouse to eat a super late lunch.

Aleq and I got ice cream! Twin Popsies and Pinipig Crunch!
Sunset!
After showering, it was time to dress up for the evening.
Check out our earrings! Off we go.
We passed by D'Mall and got a few sea creature magnets.
Walking to dinner. We couldn't decide on what to do haha, we ended up walking from one end of the island to the other.
Starbucks! Paolo absolutely forbid us to go there haha. I wanted to see if they had a Boracay tumbler! Oh well, there's always a next time!
Fire poi dancers at the Bamboo Lounge.
We ended up at the Bom Bom Bar, which had a Jamaican vibe. There was a rasta-looking dude doing reggae tunes.
Four seasons juice.

I loved the bar's chill atmosphere.

Cocomangas was a bust. It was so crowded, so not like the last time I was there. The group decided to buy alcohol and drink at the hotel instead.

Went back to our room pretty early! Half of the group stayed up. We should've gone clubbing that last night.
