First Bags Manila Purchase

Oct 29, 2011 11:15

Full disclosure time! I suck at thrifting. My boyfriend actually likes it and tries to teach me how to do it, but I just don't have the patience to sort through racks and racks of clothes and accessories, and I just miss the hidden gems for some reason. It was only recently that I finally had a successful thrifting trip when I found this edgy skirt.

This is why I love Bags Manila. Run by my friend Geli and her boyfriend Pat, it's an online shop for pre-owned, secondhand bags sourced from thrift stores. It makes my life easier for me because it saves me from making the effort of trekking through numerous thrift stores, and I actually love vintage bags - they have character!

I was lucky to be one of the store's first customers. (Thanks Geli!) I got my bag yesterday, and it's gorgeous! I chose a brown Liz Claiborne shoulder bag that's like a cross between a messenger bag and a satchel. It's got that classic vibe to it that still be in fashion even years from now. I was so surprised how it was in such great condition, and the leather's got that wonderfully aged look to it.

Obviously, this isn't going to be my last purchase from the store. I'm so there when they restock again!

Bag love!

So pretty

Liz Claiborne!

See how the inside's in good condition?

Cool buckles

Shiny, smooth leather

This is how the bag look on my bag rack. Can't wait to use it!
