Birthday Part 4: Love and Friends

Jun 08, 2011 22:58

May 1, 2011. Yes my birthday went on and on! Haha. Anyway, Sunday during my birthday weekend was another busy one. The boyfriend took me to Greenhills so we could have lunch at Crystal Jade and then pay Ronac Art Center a visit. Then we hied off to High Street at The Fort to meet our college friends. We ended up at Conti's and then Friday's. Then we capped the day with a visit to Aleq's family and I treated them to ice cream. Super fun day.

Friday's birthday mojito!

The first stop on our busy day was Crystal Jade after looking around a bit in the Greenhills mall. We've been wanting to try that restaurant for a while!

My awesome boyfriend. Thanks for planning this day bubub!

That's what we ordered.

Fresh buko juice!

Nanjing salted duck. This was deceptive! We thought the serving was so small at first but it was actually just very compact. It was dense and super flavorful!

Their seafood fried rice was light and tasty.

Xiao long bao! This had a totally different taste from Shi Lin, which is good. Yay for variety! I cannot for the life of me figure out which tastes closer to the best (and original) soup dumplings in the world from Din Tai Fung in Taiwan. It's probably Shi Lin but Crystal Jade's really good too. Plus, Crystal Jade is a Chinese restaurant, not Taiwanese, so the taste was more Chinese.

For some reason I like Shi Lin's xiao long bao left alone, but at Crystal Jade I like dipping the xiao long bao in the ginger sauce.

Red bean paste pancake for dessert! We could barely finish this, we were so stuffed from the heavy meal.

Loving my new sandals! I bought them that day in Greenhills before lunch.

Next stop: Ronac Art Center.

Aleq and I are big toy freaks, so when we found out our favorite art toy store, Fresh, opened a store (and a building) near Greenhills, we just had to pay it a visit.

Secret Fresh!

Toys are love.

We explored the rest of the building.

It was a pretty place.

Our loot from Secret Fresh! We just got ourselves a couple of toys and then bought presents for a few people.

Third stop: High Street at The Fort.

Our friends were late (what's new) so we looked through the stores for a while.

Happy birthday to me.

I wanted cake! It was my birthday after all. So we went to Conti's. Dessert came first! I think this was the Banana Cream Torte or Bananalicious. I forgot.

Mango Bravo!

Choco Overload!
