I'll Try - AoixUruha - Chapter 1/2
Practice, practice, practice again. It was becoming a little stressful. At least for Aoi. How he wished he could just stay home, linger in his bed and do nothing. Yup, nothing sounded just so good… But no, of course the Universe had to go against him and Kai called him to practice even today, in his free day. He said something about songs not sounding good enough already. Aoi didn’t know for sure since his mind has been anywhere but there, in the room when Kai told them why he called everyone. A thing that got him really curious was the small giggles Uruha made from time to time. He realized it was because he was texting someone. So it seemed he wasn’t the only one that didn’t pay attention to Kai. Ruki was rather busy counting how many dots there are on the walls and Reita was really interested in staring at Ruki. Poor Kai… if he only knew… that thought made Aoi laugh a little. At that sound, everyone in the room tuned to look at the black haired guitarist who pretended nothing happened. While the other members found it funny, their leader wasn’t so happy about it. He sighed and stood up abruptly.
“Okay everyone, meeting’s over. Go home or whatever.”
Everyone looked stunned at the drummer.
“Huh? What about practice?” Reita asked confused. The others just started at Kai. It was unusual for him to just cancel practice like this.
“It’s pretty obvious you guys are not in the mood and Aoi here only made it even more clear. Sorry to have called you in your off day.” Aoi looked down slightly embarrassed. But before he could say something Kai stormed out of the room.
“Aoi you should go after him.” Ruki suggested. The guitarist wanted to ask why him and not someone else but he gave up that thought, instead of it sitting up and following the drummer. He found him on the hallway looking quite pensive and went to him carefully.
“Uhmm… Kai… Can we talk?” Kai looked at Aoi a little startled but smiled and nodded.
“Of course we can” He said and walked to sit on a couch that was placed there.
“Well… I just wanted to tell you that we’re sorry… we didn’t mean to upset you or something you know…” Kai smile grew bigger.
“It’s okay, I guess I’m a little of a workaholic sometimes. This was your day off after all. Really don’t worry.” Aoi let out a relieved sigh and smiled back.
“I’m glad to hear that. Now can we go back to the others?” Kai nodded and they slowly made their way to the room they were previously in. The others were giggling and laughing and they seemed to be teasing Uruha about something when they entered the room.
“Hmm… seem pretty happy you don’t have to practice anymore huh?” Kai asked amused when he approached the others. His band members were stunned for a little. “Don’t worry I’m not upset. At least not yet. I’ll be if you don’t tell me why are you laughing”
Ruki and Reita immediately turned their looks to Uruha, who was blushing. Kai raised an eyebrow and waited for their answer.
“Well…” the bassist started to explain. “Do you guys know Ayame? You know make up and all?” Kai only nodded while Aoi tensed. Damn he did know that girl. She was one of the most annoying persons in the world. Her scratchy voice was driving him insane. ‘Aoi-chan!!! Time for your make-up!! Hurrrryyyyy upppppp!!!’ so frustrating.
“Oh well… it seems that our friend Uruha…” he said grinning in his direction “…Is going out with her starting from today.” Kai smiled widely and went to congratulate Uruha and tease him with the others while Aoi just stayed there. ‘Uruha… and Ayame… oh no… this must be a nightmare.’ He couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Uruha could not have such bad taste as in going out with that… that… This was not going well. Especially since he always had a thing for the other guitarist. Not that he would admit it. He just got out of the room and went to bathroom. He needed to wash his face. After 5 minutes or so, Ruki appeared there as well.
“Alone pretty?” He giggled. Aoi just rolled his eyes.
“What do you want Ruki?”
“Oh well… nothing. Just that you didn’t seem so happy about Uruha going out with Ayame.” Aoi shivered. Fuck. He should have at least congratulate the other so that the others wouldn’t notice.
“ No. I’m just a little tired. Why wouldn’t I be happy for him?” He said on an obviously tone.
“You’re jealous.” Ruki simply stated, making Aoi jump a little. The other smirked at the guitarist’s reaction. “Just admit it”.
“You’re being absurd Ruki.” The vocalist laughed.
“Am I? Common Aoi you can’t fool me. I know your reactions by now.” Damn. Ruki could be smart sometimes.
“You are Ruki. You know… sometimes you have the weirdest thoughts.” He really hoped Ruki would just forget about it but it seemed the chibi vocalist wouldn’t let him go so easily.
“Aoi just say it and I’ll leave you alone okay? What’s so damn hard?”
“If I tell you will you just leave me alone?” Ruki nodded. “Okay I am jealouse. Happy? Now leave.” That moment Ruki had a smug smile on his face.
“Okay you admitted. Now I have to tell Uruha and it all be okay.” Aoi’s eyes widened immediately.
“What?? No way Ruki! You can’t do this. They’re together after all.” The vocalist chuckled and shook his head.
“Well, my dear… actually those two are together just for fun. Uruha didn’t have a girlfriend, Ayame didn’t have a boyfriend so they just planned to go and fuck each other. So don’t worry it will be okay.” Before Aoi could say something, the vocalist went bouncing out of the bathroom. That moment the guitarist knew he was in problems. Deep problems.
Aoi preferred to not go back to the others, instead just went home to get some rest and escape the shame to meet Uruha. Unfortunately for him, it seemed that he wasn’t so lucky cause about one hour after he arrived home, someone knocked at his door and he went opened it only to see Uruha standing there. He motioned for the other to enter while he was praying really hard that Ruki didn’t tell him something. Although the possibilities were really small considering the fact that the other guitarist was here.
“So uhmm… you want something to drink?” Aoi asked nervously, trying to avoid the other.
“No thanks.” A short pause. “Aoi… Ruki told me.” ‘Oh fuck. Note to do for tomorrow: KILL RUKI’ he swallowed hard and looked apparently confused at the other.
“Told you what?” Uruha made a move and came closer to the shorter man making Aois heartbeat rise, especially when he hooked an arm over Aoi’s shoulders. The dark haired guitarist couldn’t think straight anymore. Maybe Uruha was going to kiss him?
“He told me you’re jealous cause you like Ayame.” Aoi was stunned. Apparently Ruki wasn’t that smart.
“What?” was all Aoi could say in that moment.
“ Yeah… Aoi… Look… I don’t love her so it’s okay. She doesn’t love me either. I’m sure she’ll be happy to know someone loves her and she will eventually fall for you as well since you’re an amazing person. Besides, I think she has a little thing for you already. So… me and the boys will go out to a club tonight. Of course you and her will be there too. Just make your move. Okay?”
Aoi was really too shocked for words. Uruha really thought Aoi liked Ayame??? That annoying bug? Things were going really good. And they arranged him a date with her. Wow… he was soooo happy… Now he needed to get out of this. But how? He couldn’t just tell Uruha ‘guess what? I actually like you not her’ …He needed to go to that bar and clarify things with her.
“Aren’t you happy?” Aoi nodded lightly. “Yeah Of course I am… How could I not be?”
Uruha smiled brightly. “Okay then see you tonight.” Aoi had a really bad feeling about this.
After he found out about the location of the club and the hour, Aoi got there, not too happily, but he knew he had to resolve this. The surprise he got there was that he didn’t even get to do something cause Ayame was already jumping on him.
“You like me!!you like me!!!” She screamed happily. How he wished he would tell her to get the fuck off him and leave him alone. But he forced his mouth shut. Looking at his bandmates, they were all giving him teasing smiles.
That night was a living hell. They were pushing him to dance with her, hold her. It was frustrating. Not to mention that everytime he tried to talk to Ayame, she would just ramble about how happy she is, and hug him so tightly he felt he couldn’t breath. Of course, it was obvious it was the alcohol talking cause she was drunk. Really drunk. What annoyed him the most… he was being chased. He couldn’t go anywhere without her following him and hanging on him. And that annoying voice… he was having the worst headache ever. After a few hours he just couldn’t take it anymore and snapped.
“Would you just stop following me?? You’re annoying! Just leave me alone you psycho!” The girl seemed really startled by his reaction but she recovered quickly and slapped him before going to some random guy in the club and dancing with him. Aoi sighed; at least he was finally free. He went to the restroom planning to refresh a little before leaving the club. As soon as he entered another person followed. It was Uruha.
“Aoi what the fuck man? Why did you treat her like that? I though you liked her!” Aoi was not in the mood for such a discussion right now; he just wanted to rest.
“Well, I don’t like her; I think she’s utterly annoying okay?” Uruha seemed to be thinking about something for a moment before replying.
“Then why did you tell Ruki you were jealous?” Aoi ran a hand through his hair and supported himself on the wall.
“I was jealous… just not because of her.” There was a silent moment before uruha finally realized what Aoi meant.
“You can’t mean that… I mean… it’s not what I think right?” but the look on Aoi’s face prove him he was right. Aoi was jealous because of him. “This is… uhmm… Aoi I do care about you but…” Aoi looked up and smiled.
“Don’t worry it’s okay. I’ll get over it.” Uruha grabbed his shoulder when he wanted to exit the room.
“It’s not okay… I just… I am confused… since when…”
“Does it matter?” Aoi interrupted him. When the other stayed silent he continued. “Long. And I think it’s enough. Now I just want to go home okay?”

“Aoi… I asked the others to not come today.” Aoi swallowed. This was not sounding good. “We need to talk” Talk. That’s exactly what Aoi was afraid of.
“Look. It’ okay. Just forget about the other night yeah? I…” But Uruha didn’t let him talk.
“Just listen.” Aoi fell silent. Uruha took a deep breath and continued. “I’m not gay. I’ve never in my entire life liked a man. And since last night. I thought over what happened and all. I care about you a lot Aoi. Sometimes I tend to think about it a little too much. And I want you to be happy. I’m not gay but… maybe… we could try…”

And maybe.. I was looking on the wrong side. I’ve never dared to think of you as more than a friend. But… I have a feeling, and I know that I can fall in love with you.
