slight poem revamp. . . see what you think

Dance With Me

quietly the music starts to play
inviting, beckoning, calling

you hold my hand
not my waist
a true gentleman

your touch on my back
bids me follow your steps
lightly swaying
turning with the melody

my left hand grips your shoulder
don't let me go

you tenderly pull me closer
as if feeling with me
my anxiousness
my fear

our foreheads touch
eyes closed
sharing breath

silently i plead
be real

my eyes open
and you're gone

the caress of your hand
still coaxing me

the strength of your arms
still carrying me

the warmth of your breath
still covering me
