Ben and Jess
Spring of 2011 brought the wedding of our good friends Ben and Jess as well as Becca and Brandon. Things started off with a bachelorette party for Jess down in Giffin. Kim and I drove down together and camped out a table at the Mexican restaurant and got some drinks while we waited for everyone to arrive. After some dinner and drinks everyone was nice and loosened up so we went to a local “club” to dance at Jess’ request. We had a lot of fun and all of Jess’ friends, which I don’t know many of, were really sweet. As the night grew long and the drink disappeared the idea was set forth that we should all pile in Heather’s van and go up to Atlanta to crash the boys who were having a bachelor party for Ben the same night. Now I don’t really agree with this idea but it’s what Jess wanted and she is the bride so I was ready and willing. Kim and I drove since we knew best how to get there and shockingly, were the sober ones. We met up with the boys, had some more drinks, tipped a few girls and eventually, as many nights do, we ended up at our house for an after party/slumber party. No one was driving home that night!
Then came the wedding, it was a great venue called La Bam studios in Midtown/Ansley. The place was so beautiful and unique. The bride looked wonderful and the groom was beaming. After the ceremony we danced and ate and had a great time. One thing I remember distinctly was how sweet it was when our friend Dale started to get choked up because it was just so clear how happy Ben and Jess were on that special night.
Becca and Brandon
Becca and Brandon also got married that spring. Becca had a girls away weekend the same weekend of Ben and Jess’ wedding so right after the wedding I jumped in the car and headed up to the north Georgia mountains to catch up with the girls. I got to the cabin and the girls were out on a hike. They arrived shortly after and we all got ready to go to dinner in town. We had drinks and dinner and went back to the cabin for some chill time. I think a few of the girls had done it up the night before so they were a bit more chill this evening but a few of us rabble roused and kept Becca on her toes. There was the invention of our old lady persona’s due to our all getting older and turning lame. To this day Adrianne and I call each other Enid and Agnes, but we can never remember who is who. Hahaha. We kept Becca up till the wee hours and I think she had a blast.
At the wedding Becca has asked me to help keep things on track the day of to make sure all the ques happened as they should, like the first dance and the cake cutting etc. Becca looked amazing. The place turned out great and we all, once again, ate, drank, danced and had a great time.
Now there were bachelor parties for each of these weddings but for those details you will have to badger Bob into becoming a blogger. Good luck with that though. This website is supposed to be for both of us to post but I don’t see Bob posting to much so I guess you will just have to live vicariously through my point of view unless he has a change of heart. I’ll try to keep it interesting enough for the both of us.
