Flights are booked

From Paris, France to Pittsburgh, PA, 22 june, and from Houston, TX to Paris, 11th july.
I will stay at the westmin from the 23 to the 28 june, and then leave for Orlando.
Finally I've to take a plane a little soner to arrive in pittsburgh, as there was no more space on the one I should take first and other planes on the same date were much more expensive.
Now, I will have to find a cheap hotel for my first night in pittsburgh, and seeing the prices of hotels downtown, I think I will stick to the ones in immediate airport area.
After that, I still need to think what I could do to go from Pittsburgh to Orlando.
To rent a car ? two days of road, and apparently not a lot of things to do and to see on that road before arriving to Jacksonville. To take a plane ? no direct cheap flight from pittsburgh to orlando, only one day trip, but need to pack properly the suit again, and to register and always the risk that the suit being lost or damaged.
Speaking of luggage, now Airfrance is doing the one bag only policy too since three days ago, just before I take my tickets. That could have work for me if the authorized luggage was bigger (as I will be far from the 23 kilos limitation), but with a maximum size of 158cm or 62.2 inches (height+width+depth), that's far from what I need if I bring even only one suit with me. And the bagage allowance for one more is 55€ by trip, but I've looked for luggage today that could fit with their new policy, and it's more than 200€. It seems that I will bring two bags with me finally ^_^!
So seing that to rent a car in pittsburgh won't cost me a lot much than to rent it in orlando and to return it at Houston, and knwowing that I will always have to pay some hotels on the road, I was thinking to do as much road I can the 28th. I was first thinking about making a stop on my road to Charlottes, but I wonder if I can't go a little further if I leave Pittsburgh in the morning. I can drive ten to twelve hours if I make regular stops, but I don't know if I won't be trapped in traffic jam or other things in summer on the road. Do you know if I take the road between Pittsburgh and Orlando if it's ok and safe or if the road is a hard one to drive ?
I don't think I will make a reservation for an hotel that night, but I will drive until I need to sleep and try to find a cheap hotel around with my gps, and to sleep a few hours before arriving in Florida, and maybe visiting Jacksonville if I'm there not too late, or maybe go directly to Orlando. I think I will see that and improvise a little this part of the road, and only plan reservations on some hotels like for those to visit Disney or universal studio.
If you have any advice about that, feel free to tell me if you have ideas or if you know that there's better things to do.
