Pairing: TaNaka, JunDa, Akame
Rating: PG-13
Genre: Drama, Angst, Romance
Summary: Akame gets in touch with Junno and Maru...

The restaurant they were in was almost empty; it was a fancy restaurant anyway so there weren’t much people inside. Kame’s feet kept tapping the floor and if Jin hadn’t held his knee, he wouldn’t stop.

“Kazu, what are you so nervous about?”

“Do you think they would come?” Kame sipped on his glass again.

“It’s still early… and as if you don’t know them… they’re not the ‘no-show’ type so stop worrying okay?” Jin held his hand and Kame felt calmed for a while.

“But what if they don’t come?”

“Who’s not gonna come?” a familiar voice interrupted them and when they looked up a bright smile greeted them.

“Taguch!!” Jin smiled back, “Hisashiburi…”

“Okaeri, Bakanishi…” he sat across the two lovers revealing Maru who stood silently behind him.

“Maru!” Kame said with delight.

“Gomen ne… how long have you guys been waiting?” Maru sat right beside Junno.

“It’s okay, we came too early… Kame was so excited to see you.”

“Anou… are you sure we’re gone eat here? Just from the looks of this place, I can sense that everything is expensive…” Maru chuckled as his eyes wandered around the restaurant.

“Don’t worry, it’s Jin’s treat anyway.” Kame grinned as he winked at Maru.

“So how was Paris?” Maru asked curiously.

“It’s great there. Eiffel tower kinda reminds me of Tokyo tower…” Jin recalled proudly.

“With the tone of your voice Bakanishi, I can really say you had fun, ne…” Junno talked animatedly.

“Of course! It feels good to take a break sometimes… from all the hassles at work and most especially to spend quality time with Kazu.” Jin answered proudly.

Kame slightly blushed but felt awkward at the same time so he decided to call the waiter and had their orders taken.

**********

“Koki, let’s just go back. This is not a good idea at all.”

“Tat-chan, we’re already here.”

“If  Kame finds out he’ll kill us!!” Ueda replied with irritation.

“He won’t find us if you shut up… Now keep your head low before they notice us.”

Earlier that day, Koki dragged Ueda to follow Jin and Kame and now they’re like spies under cover, observing from afar… well, at least a few tables away from the four. Koki was getting really impatient and if Ueda wasn’t there, the younger man could’ve done something rash again.

“This is really ridiculous Tat-chan, what the hell are they talking about??!”

“Koki please… Don’t ask me as if I have supersonic hearing.” Ueda retorted.

Koki sulked as Ueda calmly sipped on his coffee. “This is stupid…” Ueda whispered to himself.

**********

“Maru, by the way, what happened to your head?” Kame suddenly asked while they were eating.

“This one?” Maru touched his bandage, “It’s from the accident. Actually, if Junno wasn’t there, I could have been dead.”

“How is it now?” Jin asked next.

“It’s healing…” Maru replied with a smile. Then, everyone fell silent for a while.

“How are they?” Junno suddenly asked out of nowhere.

“Hm? Who?” Kame asked innocently though he knew who the tall man meant.

“Tat-chan and Koki of course.”

“Oh… I thought you wouldn’t ask.” Kame smiled at him.

“They’re miserable…” Jin mumbled all of a sudden and Maru looked at him with worried eyes. Kame immediately whacked his boyfriend’s head and turned to the other two.

“He’s just a bit exaggerating… But, really… they’re not doing so good.” Kame explained choosing the proper words to say.

“Anou…Is Koki…” Maru started and the three other guys waited for him to continue but he just stopped there.

“Is Koki what, Maru?” Jin asked impatiently.

“Nothing… forget it.” Maru looked down and shook his head.

“Maru, if you’re worried, go and talk top him.” Kame suggested.

“Talk to him… then what?”

“So you could work things out…”

“It seems too simple Kame, but you don’t understand how I feel right now.” Maru replied with sadness in his voice, “I wish it was that simple.”

“But the question is, would you even give Koki the chance to explain his actions and redeem himself to you?” Jin asked hoping for a positive answer.

“Maybe… maybe. But not now. I can’t deal with him yet. I hope you understand coz it’s really complicated for me. I’m still confused… and scared…”

“It’s okay Maru… don’t force yourself if you’re not yet ready… But if you change your mind, you could always tell us. And most importantly, you always know where to find Koki.” Kame assured him with a smile.

“I’ll remember that.” The older man smiled in return.

“And how about you?” Kame turned his attention to Junno.

“Tat-chan and I have talked. We’re done.” The tall man replied coldly.

“Are you just going to throw those four years away? Four years Junno… four long years. This is just another obstacle you would have to pass through.” Kame persuaded him.

“Tat-chan is a strong person. I know he can move on.”

“Even if he can, how about you? Can you move on just like that? How could you give up so easily? That’s not the Taguchi that I know. Your relationship is worth another shot…” Jin looked at Junno’s eyes.

“It’s for the best Jin… Trust me.”

“I know that you still love him Junno, your eyes can’t lie.”

Junno stayed silent for a while as he looked at Jin and Kame, “I love him so much that I haven’t left some for myself…”

The three other guys stared at him with surprise. That was the first time Junno talked like that, even though he was smiling, the hurt from his words can be felt.

“That’s why I want to find myself again…”  he said softly still wearing his usual smile.

Kame just nodded and looked at Jin with sadness as he felt hope slowly leaving him. Jin held his hand tight in return.

“I’m sorry… We know that you just want us to be back together. But then, it’s not easy at all.” Maru apologized to the couple.

“Don’t be sorry Maru. We understand that you were both hurt and we won’t force you to make up. It’s just that, we’ve been friends for so long and we can’t just watch you fall apart.” Kame explained with teary eyes.

“We know that. That’s why we are really thankful that we have you as friends.” Junno’s smile never seemed to fade.

“In the end, it would still be in your hands anyway. Just follow your heart ne? After all, love will lead you back to where you rightfully belong.” Jin cheered them up with yet another words of wisdom.

Junno and Maru looked at him with awe.

“Sugoii…” Junno mumbled.

“What?!” Jin raised an eyebrow.

“Did you learn that in Paris?”

“What ‘that’?”

“You just said something really sensible Bakanishi!!” Maru said with a giggle and Jin whacked his head. Then all of them started laughing and their moods lightened somehow.

“I miss these moments.” Kame uttered

“You said something?” Maru turned to him.

“Oh… I said we should be going now. Jin and I have something important to do. Ne, Jin?” Kame winked at his boyfriend who looked a bit confused.

“Ah… hai..hai…” Jin finally replied as he figured out what Kame meant.

“We shall be going then.” Kame gently stood up and motioned to leave. The rest of them did the same and headed for the door.

Before parting ways, Jin gave Maru and Junno a pat on the shoulder. “We’ll see you again some other time.”

“Oh, before I forget…” Kame interrupted, “Do you guys… anou… do you… live together?” he asked shyly.

“About that… well, we share an apartment for practical reasons. Not to worry ne…” Maru sniled at Kame.

“One last thing, please think about what Jin said, it might help.”

Junno and Maru nodded then watched as the two lovers disappeared.

“That went quite well, don’t you think?” the tall man slid his hands in his pockets.

“Yeah.. oh well, time to go home.” Maru started walking when Junno shot his hand out held Maru’s hand. The older man stopped and looked at the other guy.

“It’s still early… why don’t we go out?” Junno suggested still holding Maru’s hand.

“Did you just…” Maru gulped then continued, “did you just ask me out?” he furrowed his eyebrows nervously and the taller man just smiled in return. He started to drag Maru with him.

“Come on, slowpoke…”

“Oi… oi… where arewe going?” Maru picked up pace so that Junno won’t have to drag him.

“To the mall.” Junno smiled brightly.

**********

“Damn! What does he think he’s doing?!” Koki fumed as he stared through the glass pane of the restaurant.

“God…he’s holding Maru’s hand…” Ueda whined with jealousy.

“And just where is he taking my Yucchi?” Koki continued but Ueda abruptly stood up and grabbed Koki’s collar.

“Stop babbling, we have to follow them. Let’s go before they disappear.” He pulled the younger man to stand up.

“I thought you said this is a stupid idea?” Koki mocked the older man as they dashed out of the restaurant and into the streets.

“Shut up and move faster!!” they both ran to the bus stop and found the other two getting in the bus.

“We can’t get in that bus or they’ll find us.” Ueda gushed out, panting heavily.

“But we can’t wait for the next bus…” Koki said as he, too, tried to catch his breath.

Ueda hailed a taxi and the two of them hopped in.

“Please follow that bus.” Koki ordered the driver as they settled down.
