I managed to actually leave the house and go to a show last night and finally saw Skinny Puppy for the first time in my life. While waiting for them to take the stage, they played Ministry's "Stigmata" and I flashed back to a day, probably in 1991, when I had just bought Ministry's "Land of Rape and Honey" and Skinny Puppy's "Too Dark Park" and brought them over to a friend's house for first listen.
1 9 9 1. Just more than half my life ago!
I really don't care much for going out, but perhaps I need to start doing so again. I felt like a misfit among the misfits, and I hate being grumpy lonely guy at shows. If I hadn't bought my tickets online earlier that day, it would have been easy for myself to talk myself into staying home. But I'm damn glad I went. The show was awesome.
And then in dreams last night, Storm Summer Girl #2 appeared suddenly and clearly and almost out of place, like a Tyler Durden blip. . .
