Write what you know...

Last year in my unsuccessful NaNo bid I didn't follow the primary advice all writers give aspiring writers, "Write what you know".
Well I must say I may be dumb, but I'm not stupid, I learned my lesson. This year I am writing about what I know and am off to a decent start. Just over 1,000 words down, only 49,000 to go. I've got lots of time at the airport today, on the plane and an evening at a very boring hotel. I'm thinking I can hit 3,000 before Day 1 is through. I've only caught myself editing twice. Right now I just want to get it all down, then I'll make it look pretty. I truly am my own worst critic. Ugh.
